Want to summit Mt. Hood or Mt. Adams.. Questions
Teh Phuzzy replied to BanjoSHOES's topic in Newbies
'pons and an ax are all you need for Adams. Its super non-technical, just long. And a GREAT ski decent. Or Glissade off Piker's Peak; 2 hrs up, 2 min down You might need slowshoes to start, but the snow should be hard enough. Bring them to the start and if you don't need them there you can probably leave them in the car. For Hood, haven't been yet. I still want to get up on the S Side this winter and avoid the Conga Line. -
Want to summit Mt. Hood or Mt. Adams.. Questions
Teh Phuzzy replied to BanjoSHOES's topic in Newbies
July 9th is a great time to climb Adams. Its a long one and if you don't have great endurance I would recommend camping on the Lunch Counter. Its worth it just for the sunset behind St. Helens and the stars at night, if its clear. -
if only Looks like Broughton for Sunday
-
I reduced the size to less than 80x80 pixels and I still can't use it. I am unable to select any pic for upload.... Why do you hate Mac's?! Any help will be appreciated.
-
I remember that place being wet into July last summer. And the skeeters! I hadn't seen them like that since I left the high end of the Mississippi R. Though, you can't beat the approach, as long as you don't slip on a used condom .
-
I would be down to head out to Broughton on Sunday.

On the Freeway Wall? Simple Twist .11 Thanks for the info folks
-
If you were asking for tomorrow, I might just be inclined to blow off class.

I guess I haven't been out to Broughton this time of year. What areas/lines dry out quickly out there? I would love to throw my fist up in the Sickle again. Never been to Farside...

pick up some red-lines on AutoCAD... OOO ME! ME! ME!

I wasn't talking about climbing style, I was talking about inter-personal communication. You've freed shit I don't think I'll touch in my life.

hey, but it HAS been succesful in the original intent of changing the febuary beacon topic de jour away from the fornicating falcons pink lives in cali-rado and he know's i'm too cheap a bastard to fly all the way out there for a drink....plus, w/o rereading the current 6 pages, i think i've maintained a friendlish tone, no? true- the f-ing falcons have not been the topic. Scanning back through, I take back what I said about you two being a bad example. This whole thread just turned into a pissing match between a few people and it really stinks. Ivan- in all you vulgarity, you are actually quite tactful when it comes to subjects like this. Can't we all just get along? I really don't care what the route is called and I have no say in it since I had nothing to do with putting it up. I just want to climb the fucking thing.

Exercise bike for recovery from broken leg

I blew my kneecap into seven pieces last year, I feel for you. Good luck on the recovery have you tried CL? -
I was actually pretty excited to see what would come of this thread since I have been to beacon only a few times and it has drawn me in. This the place I want to climb because of the type of climbing that goes on out there (adventurous and, better yet, no gym rats) and I thought the group out there was a close-knit group. I am really disappointed with this thread though. Ivan and Pink, a public internet forum is probably not the best place to figure out what is going on with this route. Why don't you two go out for a beer and get down to business where your sayings aren't on display for everyone and personas can be left at the door; the internet is not a good environment for this most of the time. You are both established climbers and are not setting a good example for others (nOObs like me in particular). Personal attacks are going to get you nowhere on here... Despite all this, I would still really like to get out there and check out this line sometime.

if it ain't tele, it ain't cool... HA! WTF am I talking about, that's Uber badass.

Anybody here from Duluth?
-
That's about what I figured, everything around here is going to be real wet till June-ish. There needs to be some wind on the rocks if they are going to dry... seems to me there is a spot real close that is known for being windy (-; At least you got the ropes out; the only thing I have used mine for in the past few months is to rap off my bell tower.

Three times my age and easily 3³ times more badass. Hope I can pull down like that at that age. -
I haven't been out there since last fall, but I'd be down for some butt action in the near future. I have been out at the new Circuit in NE. The place is rad.
