i'm meeting kenny out there in the morning - don't know what the hell we're doing yet though... I am planning on getting to the base sometime around 7 am. I have to be back by 2 so the early bird gets the worm. My ride and climbing partner for the Olympics this weekend has pretty much bailed and I don't plan to waste this beautiful weather. I'll throw in gas money for a ride out there from North Portland.

Hey Folks, My buddy and I are looking to head up the West Arete route on Constance this weekend. We were thinking about the Red Dike route, but the lack of a topo and beta (outside of the Mountaineers book) is making us hesitant to head around to that route. Anyway, are the rats bad again this year? That seems to have been a problem in that area the last few years. I wasn't planning on bringing 'pons (only an ice axe) shouldn't need'em to get up to Crystal Pass, eh? Thanks in advance, ~Adam

Great TR! There is some great info in there fro someone looking at this climb. I love the bit about the Top Out; way to stick it! I'll be sure to bring a #5 CAMALOT d: -
interested in those boots (hopefully they aren't too small) and the shorty skis (do those bindings free-heel?). I'll shoot you a PM when I am back from surfing on the coast.

found a good video for this (and a regular Munter Hitch) gonna have to give this some practice before taking it out

Using a Bugette from DMM would probably help out with this as well as cutting some weight. Anyone ever use one of those things?

so glad you got a camera! Do you ever take a break?

It gets ragged on because of the [lack of] scenery, the trash, and the constant noise of the freeway right there. There has been a lot of cleaning up out there lately and I am glad to hear about. I should be out at the next one on the 17th, I believe. That's the crag I started climbing at, but I haven't been there in couple years due to the conditions I stated. this one? only ever TR'ed it and at wasn't pretty. That and Ace, a few lines to the left, always gave me a ton of trouble for only being 5.8. Back to the OP: its a blank line in the third and second edition too, but I second what Chad and bkb000 already said. -

Great stoke I have thought about combining two of favorite activities like that, thanks for the inspiration! -
The best way to get better, faster, stronger, more confident... is to get out and climb! If you have only been on TR a few times, spending time off terra firma (even on easy routes) will go a long way with making you feel more comfortable about getting on the sharp end. Placing gear and tagging a rope to practice gear placement while on TR is a great way to learn the art of leading. I wish I could have done that before jumping on lead. My lady and I are doing a little gorge tour this weekend; hitting up Ozone, Farside, and Beacon. I have been leading a few of the low .10's at Farside on gear and am more than willing to show you around out there. Have you been out to the Bridge of the Gods bouldering area? Shoot em a PM if you want to meet up this weekend for a day. ~Adam

These guys popped up when I was moving a couple months ago. I bought them for going really fast on the corduroy, but two years after busting my knee cap into seven pieces, I know I won't be skiing that hard anytime soon. These 200 cm skis have never been drilled. They are long, hard, and very stiff I have them on Craigslist for $120, but I can let them go for less. I am very open to trades, especially if Metolius or CAMP TCU(s) or ascender(s) are involved. I am in North Portland and would prefer to deal locally. thanks for looking

Headed up that way for some good views and see if I can get up Yoran this time; since it shouldn't be raining... I am curious about the snow on Diamond, levels and such. I was on MSH last weekend and if it was like that, there is not need to trek the 'pons in since it was really soft. Thanks for any info! ~Adam
