  1. I always have "protection" with me. Besides, I need a big burly gal to belay me.
  2. Also posted in Climbing Partner forum under PDX drytool night: Thread revival!!! In lieu of crummy weather this weekend, I'm trekking to Rocky Butte for a bit of drytooling Saturday around 9:00 AM (ish). Never been before, but if anyone is interested in joining us, shoot me a PM. Bring on the rain!

  9. New technology: Beal Uni-Core. Beal Uni-Core Rope AAI posted this blog/video yesterday.Could certainly add some life-span to ropes. Not in English, but you get the idea.
  10. Here's a video link on edge loading a carabiner: Metloious Carabiner Side Loading Although the gate is closed and results are posted, it appears to have failed around 1800-1900 lbs. Take it for what it's worth and as said above - why would you ever place a carabiner in this postion?

  12. Nice dudes....very nice indeed. Incredibly jealous.
  13. Very nice! Good job rallying after your fall and leading again the next day. Thanks for the photos and TR!
  14. Good job getting out! Perhaps a couple freeze/thaw cycles and it will firm up to eliminate the wallowing. Did you happen to get a view of the N. ridge of Pinnacle by chance?
  15. Brady catching a quick view before a climb of The Castle.
  16. Thanks for the fix - very nice! How much time approach vs. climb vs. descent throughout the 36 hours?
  17. Googled them and read some review over the last couple of years. Yikes!! Enough said. Thanks!
  18. Plastic nuts? Sounds lightweight. I've never seen a standard in place for composite protection....wonder how they get away with it in the U.S.
  19. Came accross this site on some very inexpensive cams: Gear4Rocks Normally, you get what you pay for and I'll continue to trust my life to my proven rack. Anyone have any experience with these?
  20. Thanks for the info. My brother took a quick trip up that way yesterday and said the face looked pretty stable. We'll wait for the next cold spell and bust up there.
  21. Great photography! Thanks for bringing WY close to home.
  22. Gorgeous, I am drooling!
  23. [quote=Off_White I agree that the middle picture is the winner of the bunch, you should send it in to the climbing rags. AAI is looking for a cover shot for their 2011 Catalogue. This shot surely exemplifies the NW.
