  1. oh john, aren't you just the toughguy and its frisbee golf that i want to keep popular - dodgeball should have its own professional league!
  2. you'd never make it with that face shield of yers - you might as well climb with signal mirrors all over you
  3. hood is fairly basic and straightforward when you do the southside route, but you should still know the basics of roped glacier travel. you might only rope up for the 'schrund, but, if you plan to do other mountains, knowing the techniques of glacier travel will serve you well. i cannot comment firsthand on baker, but by everything i have read here on cc it sounds like the standard route is much the same as hood's in terms of difficulty. rainier on the other hand is a truly big mountain, but if you handled the altitude on shasta (which is similar to rainier - only a few hundred feet lower) then it stands to reason that you could handle rainier, too. i would do the other lower volcanoes of the cascades and work up to rainier since you'd probably be doing it as a two-day climb. lassen peak is non-technical and in yer neighborhood. if you can get up shasta then lassen should be a walk-up for you. pick up a copy of "freedom of the hills" and start reading. this is no substitute for actual experience, but it will at the very least introduce you to the more technical side of climbing the big(ger) mountains. there is nothing wrong with taking a course to become acquainted with these techniques, but i bet they will tell you to buy the book, too. i've taken several crevasse rescue courses and i've learned something everytime. when you are not in the mountains, and simply hiking around, do yourself a favor and hike with a pack that is loaded with some weight. then, try to keep yerself moving at a pace that you can maintain for a looooooooong time, as this is the pace you want to keep in the mountains. best of luck!
  4. boring, stupid... either way my attention span for such things is shorter than the time it takes me to peel off a hard lead.
  5. well aware, well aware... i'm just unamerican b/c ufc fighting and martial arts bores the f**k out of me.
  6. i have no idea what JH is saying b/c i have been ignoring him for almost three weeks, but i'm sure that it is full of wisdom and fun facts about birds and his personal observational habits
  7. you need to add "FFA" somewhere in the link to qualify sorry chaser, i couldn't resist but worry not... maybe tomorrow will be my day to get picked on
  8. smoothe... very smoothe, dude. stealth edit!
  9. you need a mini fridge under yer desk! just out of curiosity, how long did it take you to remove all that aluminum foil off yer desk?
  10. hey sobo, what time is it?
  11. i'm looking for it but it doesn't seem to be anywhere around my place
  12. or even - steven segal = UFC any way you look at it i'm sleepin
  13. or - UFC = steven segal
  14. steven segal + UFC =
  15. delete it! why? its where it belongs, here in the depths of spray... this is entertaining! it went from 4 pages to 6 in littleless than an hour...
  16. as your attorney i advise you to buy a really fast car with no top - and you'll need the cocaine, tape recorder for special music... get the hell out of woodinville for a while..."
  17. see, that's great spray, dude!
  18. perfect that you are here marc... you are a good example of what i was just talking about. marc comes off as humble (most of the time) i think... he posts TRs and talks about himself a little (like everyone else - almost), but he is careful with his spray. the only way i know marc climbs hard is that OTHER people talk about what he has done too. see here everyone sprays, chaser (some more than others), but it is the quality of your spray that counts. not sayin that yer spray is bad because you certainly have you moments, just like everyone else... except maybe Tappett Brother 1
  19. you do get some great pics, mito way to get it done
  20. more power to ya that you are, dude!
  21. just noticed that... all the buildup for something soooooo funny and then the link is busted? what a letdown. i was all set to laugh, too...
  22. congrats, then dude! i am happy for you! reaching a milestone is a big deal in life and climbing, and is definitely something of which to be proud. do you say it to everyone here in the tone of (insert snide sounding voice here) "well i did this, so there..." (end snide voice now), or are you telling others because you never, in a million years, thought you could do that and are just so stoked by doing it that you have to tell people? i can understand the latter... the former, however, just doesn't fit in my philosophy for climbing (or life).
  23. OMG that is way funny 5.10b is nothing legendary dude, when there are so many out there doing sooooooo much harder. yer climb is cool, but it's still nothing to brag about. than again, neither are any of my conquests or for that matter most of the things talked about on a daily basis... just sayin. the more you brag about the stuff you have done the less humble it makes you and the more arrogant you become. no one needs to be arrogant when they climb .10b... no one needs to be arrogant, period. he's right... (and for more of my opinion on this quote, see my response directly above.)
  24. That I would trust on aid. Not sure I would trust it as a free piece. i was going to say that same thing, scotty, but i felt i might get too wordy and lose people while stating so
