the sea lions usually get about 3% of the annual salmon run, though not all fish targeted are salmon. the stellar sea lion - which is larger than the california sea lion - actually targets sturgeon, but wouldn't balk at a nice plump springer or silver. the california sea lions almost exclusively target the salmon. the 3% of the run that the sea lions claim up there was about 4500 fish in 2008 and with the run predictions for this year it will be interesting to see if it is a feast for them. OMG this is such a quagmire - i can't even think about it without getting a headache

Was in LA checking on my Dad for the weekend, but this time of year every two weeks or so is fine. If Dave or Kenny can get out during those alternate weeks and get some entries that would be great as well. ... i'll coordinate with ya, joe. i'll be out there every day starting about the 24th.

as a tribute to the lost climbers this is a very touching gesture. as a skeptic, however, i wonder how this will play out. admittedly i am often a very harsh critic when it comes to movies, and climbing movies in particular, but regardless, i will be interested to see it when it is released. wish i could donate more than just my skepticism. best of luck - filmmaking ain't easy!
