  4. So the rope moves freely through the device as u move up (u don’t have to manually un cam the device as u move up like with a grigri)?
  5. I also have a love hate relationship with my grigri. The Eddy looks similar in design to the gri gri so what makes it better for rope soloing?
  6. This looks like a great sport climb! It was on my list for last fall. Unfortunately it will have to wait until spring! The whole idea of rapping in then climbing to safety is very appealing.
  7. Nice! aka seals tongue. My favorite liverwort. I had to dust of Pojar this morning to remember the scientific name.

  12. The adze comes in 50, 57 and 64 cm, but no 60cm (as far as I can tell). Personally I would get a matching pair. I really like mine, but as pointed out they are really only good for sub vertical or very short vertical sections.

  14. Buddy just called to make sure I was not on hood. He's herein some sketchy info on perhaps a team of three having some issues. Anyone here about this
  15. huh? someone could say ur lerkin in the same way. just sayin... JH don’t fear change! YW has already substantially and steadily changed over the years as loosening rock has been trundled and will continue to do so. Change happens. And the 'before' photo here on the left is itself an 'after' photo due to the late night launch, just a few months earlier, of the large stone that was in front of those. The ones you see here that were trundled are what now make up the foundation of the new base of the climb. It's a new base because that bottom-most rock in the 'before' picture filled the dihedral for about twelve feet and, when dropped, sliced through the old base on it's way cartwheeling over the trail and down the hill.
  16. this worked for me! Saved some coin and meet some really cool people
  17. Given the cost of the unit compared to a good GPS I would be suspect at the ability of the unit to precisely triangulate ones location. This seems to be the case when people have used them in the past. I looked into these a year or so ago and decided to hold off. They offer a chance to buy "rescue insurance" when the unit is purchased. After reading the fine print I came to the conclusion that it was a scam. So if you do go with one of these I would opt out of the insurance. If within a half mile is good enough for you then this may be a cheap and easy way to give your wife some piece of mind.
  18. so they take viagra when they climb??? It opens a whole new world pink
  19. So what’s the theoretical total on this Yos trip up to? I’m certainly looking forward to getting paid for 2 weeks 2 climb rocks. Well that and snuggling with LCK

  22. [video:youtube] [video:youtube] [video:youtube] [video:youtube]
  23. How do you get the video imbedded so you can see the YouTube screen here? Seems there used to be an "upload video" button on the toolbar that had a YouTube icon, but I don't see it now. U got to create a u-tube account first then upload the video to u-tube. The video gets assigned a web address. In the reply box on cc click enter a media tag then select you-tube video. A box pops up, put in the url and click okay and blam o easy huh
  24. Amen, brother. WHAT?!? it couldn't have been that bad... Well seeing Dave pin wheel and be blown around like a rag doll was certainly exciting. But no Kenny I gather for Beacon at this time of year it was business as usual
  25. Whether their is a god or not I prayed a few times yesterday
