Cheers to you both on a fabulous climb. Conditions must have been just right - good pro?
  4. 1/16 - 130lbs. Goal: 130-135 with more muscle!
  5. BEANS!! I could post as Beangirl, lighter than air, able to climb 5.15 in .5 seconds. Hehehe. They do have lots of protein and full of vits.
  6. I have always prefered Alpine climbing but want to be able to tackle a bit harder climbs and will do some more cragging this year. I have always done more reps with lighter weight but have been reading more about mixing it up with heavy/fewer reps. I eat a healthy and balanced diet but the whey powder is something I know works for many folks. Thanks again Collin!
  7. Looks like the east slopes my be the best place to head out for some turns. The Methow Valley is looking good!
  8. I guess a bit more climbing specific. Have any recommendation on free weight exercies? I have been working at strength slowly ( X 2 years), due to an injury, I have to take it easy and listen to my body. I am doing general strength training/core strength as I had lost a bit of muscle mass in my upper back and shoulders. Have to say that I have never been a gym person like you say you get into a routine. I am not sure about protein powders as I seem to shun them. Are protein powders a must?

    Cherry Pie

Approximately a week! But then if your real hungry.......
  10. I was curious because I would like to gain some muscle weight. I am down to just 130lbs on my 5'8"s but am trying to gain some muscle/strength. I am assuming you have been doing some sort of protein shakes/lifting program?
  11. Collin, Could be a silly question - did you want to put on weight? Teresa
  12. Okay, I am not one for New Year Resolutions but a few folks expressed interest in reviving this thread. Any takers? How about an update from folks that posted last year?
  13. Goals are great motivators! More alpine climbs and traverses for me. I would like to gain muscle and increase my endurance. Weigh in at 131 lbs..
  14. Exactly where I will be! It is awesome skiing and midweek there aren't alot of folks.
  15. Ogden - Powder Mountain. I am heading there in two weeks - yeah!

Here's to a speedy recovery and rehab for the upcoming climbing season! Cheers!
  19. After applying the glue and patch. I would apply even pressure over that section of jacket for about 30 minutes to make sure all surfaces adhere well.
  20. Hot wax absorbs into the bases of the skis better than rub on and will then last longer in the base of the ski. As Maine-iac said you should scrap and then I would recommend using a stiff nylon or soft Copper wax brush to remove wax residue from the base to not transfer it onto the skin's glue. You will get better glide and pick up less dirt, pine pitch, etc.. Most of the rub on waxes are fine as long as you rub in well as most don't last very long on the base of the skis in average to abrasive snow conditions. Especially good are any of the liquid products.
  21. I am crossing my fingers and toes! But here is an interesting blog from one of the top in his profession: http://cliffmass.blogspot.com/ . He is thinking by Wednesday the forcasters will have some better weather models to look at.
  22. Congrats Dan and Rolf! Picked a nice weather window for the climb.
  23. Temperature and what kind of soft shell jacket. There are so many different fabrications of Schoeller: WB-400, which is a bonded fabric, Soft Shell 3XDRY, and on and on.
  24. :kisss: Sweet! Where's the white stuff?
