  5. Well about 20 years ago 5 of us were on this tour and up next was to climb and ski Glacier Peak. We were thwarted by rain on Baker so we really rallied to get into the hot springs for an early start the next day. We decided a soak was in order. It got a bit toasty in the hot springs, so a snowball fight ensued. One of the guys, Jim or Gordon, reached for a wad of snow and came up with a can of Schlitz beer. Quickly the snowball fight turned into find the other hidden beers - we only came up with a total of two. Thank you beer fairy!
  6. Paul, I am truely saddened by this aweful revelation. Have you not imbibed of any "liquid" refreshment? Heck it is only 35 minutes away from the weekend!
  7. Nice work guys!! Don, no wonder I haven't seen you on the nordic trails lately - looks like your having way to much fun in the alpine. Teresa

  14. BEANS!! I could post as Beangirl, lighter than air, able to climb 5.15 in .5 seconds. Hehehe. They do have lots of protein and full of vits.
  15. I have always prefered Alpine climbing but want to be able to tackle a bit harder climbs and will do some more cragging this year. I have always done more reps with lighter weight but have been reading more about mixing it up with heavy/fewer reps. I eat a healthy and balanced diet but the whey powder is something I know works for many folks. Thanks again Collin!
  16. Looks like the east slopes my be the best place to head out for some turns. The Methow Valley is looking good!
  17. I guess a bit more climbing specific. Have any recommendation on free weight exercies? I have been working at strength slowly ( X 2 years), due to an injury, I have to take it easy and listen to my body. I am doing general strength training/core strength as I had lost a bit of muscle mass in my upper back and shoulders. Have to say that I have never been a gym person like you say you get into a routine. I am not sure about protein powders as I seem to shun them. Are protein powders a must?

  19. I was curious because I would like to gain some muscle weight. I am down to just 130lbs on my 5'8"s but am trying to gain some muscle/strength. I am assuming you have been doing some sort of protein shakes/lifting program?
  20. Collin, Could be a silly question - did you want to put on weight? Teresa
  21. Okay, I am not one for New Year Resolutions but a few folks expressed interest in reviving this thread. Any takers? How about an update from folks that posted last year?
  22. Tempting! I have some friends from Leavenworth who have gotten into surfing so I will pass on the particulars. What kind of shape is it in?
  23. Goals are great motivators! More alpine climbs and traverses for me. I would like to gain muscle and increase my endurance. Weigh in at 131 lbs..
  24. Exactly where I will be! It is awesome skiing and midweek there aren't alot of folks.
