18 degrees and we are showing off our tattoos at Banks Lake. Me toping out on Higher Cathedral Spire in Yosemite. Plaidman on top of The Witch at Coethdral this summer. Ok This was from last year. Sorry. I just never want to have to lead in the dark with a crappy dim headlamp again.

They seem to want to get not only Jeff Lowe's story but also the Eiger ascents from the past. I really hope Ueli Steck gets to climb the route. When my buddy Rick and I are out climbing and we need a burst of speed. We just yell Ueli Steck real loud. Seems to work. Our ice tools hum and start to glow and we just power up the climb. "The Climb up to Hell" - Jack Olsen was excellent also. Some great history and really well researched. Focused on the first successful rescue from the top of the Eiger in the 50's

Just called Rick he is dubious about making the trip out there. We were at Rocky Butte today dry tooling on the lower wall at the top of the Butte. It was more like wet tooling in rock shoes. We set up a top rope and we each did 3 laps. Rick did another wearing his work boot. Much harder that way. Basically hauled himself up with his arms. But that is the way he climbs most of the time.

Do they close that road in the winter?

Great I idea Bill about Coethedral. But how are we going to get there? Do you have a snowmobile in the basement that I can borrow. Wait!!!! ...... Rick has a badass truck. NEVER MIND!
