  1. Here is a pretty decent deal on a light Gore-Tex jacket if you are XL. http://www.backcountry.com/outdoorgear/Backcountry-Siphon-Street-Full-Zip-Hooded-Sweatshirt-Men%92s/BCC0127M.html Edit: Just read you have some already, if anyone is looking.
  2. Your money may vary.

I've been having issues too. My internet is pretty slow, so I think what happens is that firefox only trys to load the pictures for so long, then after a few minutes gives up. If I refresh the TRs a couple of times it will end up loading all of the pictures. I am at school now, but could check which version of Firefox I have when I get home.
  6. I started reading this, and thought holy shit, that is a long day of climbing. Kept reading and started thinking that I misread and it was over a week, then was stoked to keep reading. Great trip report, and I am jealous of how easy your hitchhiking trip was. Thanks.
  7. Yup, went and bought it today. Good article, got chills for sure.
  8. I am assuming you are talking about Micah Dash. Is the article online, or in Climbing magazine?
  9. Dane, I own a Compressor without a hood that is a little packed out, but even at its warmest seemed a little cool for me. What is your layering setup for legs, some softshells and long underwear? Do you throw a insulated set of pants on at belays? I'm a little financially limited so am using some beater Gore-Tex bibs and long underwear, but it seems that I need a heavier jacket even in the not super cold. Wondering if something else for the legs is important.
  10. I've tried to text home that I am running late, never worked and I am too afraid of the attempted call that gets dropped and wigs out people a little more. So tried and failed.
  11. I dunno, but rain today and tomorrow is the forecast for up there. Could be an interesting crossing.
  12. So beer and all you can eat fish tacos. This is going to end well for me.
  13. Bump, or is it still the same advice?
  14. Jay, as a completely sucky newbie climber I promise to match one of your amazing, or at least semi awesome trip reports for one of my shoddy trip reports. One condition, I get at least a couple of weeks after you post yours to coordinate something worthwhile, or kinda worthwhile.
  15. Jay didn't exactly do that in the last few years, but check out his trip reports, some of the best on the website. Hell, I am still in college, and at best considered a subpar climber, but damn that is some inspiration for the next few years, or decade or so/
  16. There is a lookout tower in the top of the Sehome Hill Arboretum in Bellingham that is about 35 feet tall. You would probably have trouble getting over the edge here as well though.
  17. Maybe, will have to see how the week pans out with homework.
  18. I heard similar stories from camping at 5,000 on Baker, cannot imagine what you were going through.
  19. Check out Joe Simpson's movie The Beckoning Silence. Its about an attempt at climbing the North Face of the Eiger. Its up on youtube. I'm not really doing it justice with that description but its pretty dang good.
  20. AAI has a used gear sale going, they had some crampons left at noon or so if you are looking for a matching set. Sweet pictures also.
  21. I'll call you this afternoon, but have class this morning.
  22. Anyone interested in heading up to the seracs this weekend? I will have 4 maybe 8 screws. Saturday or Sunday work for me.
  23. Good to hear, might have to bother a few other things along with Nomics to get up it. Maybe a few more screws and some etriers.
  24. Saw him at Seattle, well worth driving from Bellingham. Funny, humble and a damn good speaker.
  25. Mark, how are the seracs looking this year? Might be headed up next weekend if they are good.
