Excellent idea, Bone. In an era of extreme corporate control and high deficits, we should definitely rebuild huge, expensive agencies from scratch. We all know that new things work flawlessly right out of the box. We'll need to get corporations to behave themselves during the undoubtedly long period when they'll have zero oversight. What we should NOT do is make a list of needed reforms and enact those reforms as we have the resources to do so. It's all so simple. From the fire, a shinier, more perfect world will arise.... Breaking the law and using the law to disenfranchise certain voters to rig elections in favor of one party over another are two completely different phenomena that have nothing to do with each other. The first is democracy working as it should (having the laws to begin with, then punishing the violators), the second is a concerted effort to break democracy entirely. An unprincipled person might not be able to discern the difference. A principled one would never attempt to downplay the wrongness of the latter by citing an instance of the former.

Does anyone know where I can get rock shoes with quick release front points? Thanks to Darrington's FAer's for creating a relatively unsung jewel of an area over the last several decades. If it were in the Mojave, it would be world famous. Fortunately, our weather and vegetation keep it scruffy enough to appeal to primarily local tastes. There's a substantial and relatively quiet group of more occasional visitors who who really appreciate all the hard work and skill that's been put into the area by those who know and love it best.
