  1. Thanks, that the same info my sports doc gave. Good to know. I don't like the idea of hassling with the chest strap but I guess that's what you need if you want an accurate reading while exercising.
  2. Just wondering if anyone has used the Mio brand heart rate monitor watches. Costco has one online for $53.99... Mio Triumph Strapless Heart Rate Watch Any other advice on picking one up would be appreciated. I know I can dig up an old thread on the subject, but I'd rather find out what the latest, greatest ones are. I mainly want to use it for aerobic training. Thanks!
  3. preferably w/ some goddless hobo you've picked up off the street, free of all social graces and incapable of controlling most bowel functions But you have a job to go to, Ivan. I love the opening shot. Cheers!
  4. WOW!! Congrats to all involved.
  5. We sell it at the sushi bar I work at in Hood River... Damn good sushi too.
  6. I like the half-serrated/half regular edge blade so you get the best of both worlds (serrated suck for spreading peanut butter). If I need a bigger, more functional tool, I like my Kershaw multi-tool. It's big and heavy but the features I've used it most for doing field repairs on things like ski bindings, tent poles and such is the locking pliers (vicegripe)... Works as a wrench most of the time.
  7. Location, location, location, Larry...

  9. Religion is like a penis... Every guy has one but that doesn't mean you should shove it down everyone's throat.
  10. We need pics of you sending the proj on your garage home gym to make it legit...

  12. It not the length of fall that matters, it's the LANDING!
  13. I concure.
  14. Dude, you had it easy. We had to rely on road kill popsicles...
  15. Whopping 2" here. Good thing they canceled school. When I was a kid, we had to walk to school in a blizzard of 3' of pow, uphill, both ways...
  16. I'm having trouble deciding which lycra pants to wear under my shorts. Hmmm, the pink ones or neon green?

Ding, ding, ding, we have a winner!... Step right up and claim your prize, JayB.
  19. I used a down one like that (a few years older) on a 35 day trip in the AK Range and froze my ass off, even with puffy coat, heavy fleece(s), poly pro liner, bivy sack, down booties, and all the poly pro layers I had (light, med & heavy) in an exp tent. However, we saw temps in the -40 to -50F below zero (April). My buddy had a Marmot CWM -40 and was comfy the whole trip. I'd add +20 to the rating for "comfort". You would likely survive at it's rated temp. Also, if it has been used a lot or not stored properly over the last decade, it could well have a lot less loft, especially if it is down...
  20. lol I climbed off my couch, approached my fridge and on-sighted the bottle cap. I pushed a new route around the far side of my kitchen table, with some mandatory aid moves when I had to grab my sleeping dog's collar to move him out of the way. My five year old did her first free solo on her bike yesterday (no more training wheels). Now that's exciting!
  21. Congrats dude!
