So, I'm considering various Wind Tech programs and hoping there are a few techs lurking here... I'm seeking advice on entry level wind tech jobs and the various schools that offer certificates. I am leaning toward a 6 month program at Northwest Renewable Energy Institute in Vancouver, WA. However, I'm willing to travel to get the best education for landing a job. 3rd the above advice... Take it EASY! I had a double hernia replaced shortly after having our first kid and ended up lifting the baby often. I still have issues now and it has been almost 8 years since I had the procedure done. My surgery was two large incisions and not scoped so your results may be better. I'm 95% recovered but doubt I will ever feel 100% since it has been so long.

Check it out is about all you can do till July(ish) when the falcon closure is lifted. You can still do a few routes on the north side but they pretty much suck compared to the south side.

I read in another thread you can get all the free gear you want at pretty much any trail head, just smash and grab...

MSR, Marmot, OR, BD, Sierra Designs and Julbo, to name a few. I've sent some pretty mangled glacier glasses back to Julbo a few times and they have always sent me a brand new pair. Smith has hooked me up a few times but not always. I still really like Smith sunglasses though. I also really like Kershaw knifes. They have replaced a ton of folding knives that have gotten the tip broken off or other minor damage. They make a great product too. It never hurts to send a nice schmoozy letter telling them how great they are before hitting them up with any warranty request.

I just purchased my first HRM about a month ago. After some research, I decided on the Garmon with the chest strap and foot pod. It has been very accurate with both the running mileage and fairly accurate with the heart rate except sometimes it is WAY off. I think that is mainly due to the sensors not being wet though. If I wet them before I run or once I am sweaty enough, it seems to be very accurate. However, the cheap plastic bracket for the foot pod has already broken on me (saw that one coming). Now I need to keep it taped on so I don't lose it. Good thing I bought it at REI...
