  1. The day started with much calmer winds than the past weekend but by the time we got to LLP ledge it was really ripping again. Even more so when we topped out.

    So Damn Sick!

Just eat a whole bunch of acid and you'll be fine. Seriously though, have you tried the zicam stuff? If you have a cold/flu type bug that stuff seems to work but only if you catch it early enough. Sounds like you are beyond the early enough time frame but it may speed your recovery anyway.
  3. Yeah, got the gear. We thought you might have been ahead of us as a car just like your was parked at the climber's end of the lot. Another party was on the corner ahead of us but they left the gear so I have it now and am waiting to hear back from AW as to how to get it back to him. What I really need right now is a soloist, or better yet, a silent partner. Any chance you have one you can loan to me for a week next month? Geoff said his bro will lend me one, which reminds me, I need to e-mail him. Promise to replace, or repay actual cost if I damage or lose it.
  4. No, but we did FREE it, or Froze it, as it were. I ain't soloing anything with weather and winds like this, cept maybe a free solo trip to the mailbox, even that is pretty sketch now. Pretty fun anyway. Plans of lounging at LLP ledge were nixed to get up and off and warmed back up. Looks like it might rain on Friday but lets keep an eye on the weather. I'd really rather climb than aid in the cold though.
  5. Hmmm, I wonder what's going on in there? i was fixing my cable? I thought you had DSL?
  6. I read it on the internut so it must be true.
  7. I might be able to get out Friday but would want to do something we can keep moving on. No, Ivanesque belay slave suffer fest type projects. Ran the corner today and it was pretty damn cold and still plenty windy too. What did you have in mind?
  8. Hmmm, I wonder what's going on in there?
  9. My condolences to the family and friends.
  10. But, did you FREE it?
  11. Sounds like "Scrappie". I told my wife, whatever you do, don't bring home a long haired male cat as I'm allergic to cats and they are the worst. Of course, she brings home a female short hair, and a male long hair. He was filthy, the vet said he'd never seen so many mites on a kitten. My wife said "I named him Kai". I said, "I aint callin that scrappie thing Kai". So,"Scrappie-Kai" it was. Funny thing is, he ended up thinking he was a dog. When we got him his eyes were still closed and when they opened up, he modeled after our black lab puppy. He followed that damn dog everywhere, even on walks with us. He'd try to catch the frisbee like the dog would too. I'm not one for cats but he was pretty cool. Feisty little bastard though, brought in dead or half dead animals all day long, every day. Guess that's why he ended up getting munched by the coyotes a couple summers ago. To bad it was not our other worthless cat that is to lazy to go outside to pee, just does it in the planters. RIP Scrappie. He loved sleeping half in/out of the door like this.
  12. You want some Beeotch?
  13. Free? no - it's probably a .12ish route like the other ledge routes and not remotely in my neighborhood - i'll belay you if you wanna give it a go though Kevbone doesn't waste his time on those easy routes.
  14. I suppose that's like driving on the freeway without wearing a seat belt and using the rationale that you've been doing it for years and never got in a wreck. For me, I'd rather be safe than sorry. I've never had the pleasure of getting giardiasis but know enough people who have that I certainly don't want to risk it. Most of the folks I know who have gotten it, did so here in the US and some of them suffered from it for many years after the fact. I'd much rather be "un-informed" if it keeps me from getting a nasty bug like giardiasis. BTW, I have a cheap WalMart car camping tent and it is a total piece of crap. I knew that when I bought it for $50 but wanted a tent for stuff like concerts and such so I would not have to worry about it getting stolen. The zippers suck, the poles suck, it it a pain to set up (compared to some of my nice, expensive tents) and it leaks a bit too. Ya get what-cha pay for, at least most of the time.
  15. I'm hoping to get out Wed, maybe Thur but the rains are supposed to be coming by then. Well have to wait and see what the weather is like come Sat.
  16. Isn't that MISUNDERMOUNTAINESTIMATE?
  17. Glad you got out Ben, I felt kind of guilty for not going. On the other hand, my house was shaking most of the day when getting buffeted by the east winds and I was nice and cozy inside. Anyone up for one more jaunt mid week?

i saw an infomercial about those things. they come with 2 sham-wows and a Tom Vu seminar. the reviews I read on amazon.com didn't seem to give me a good impression. Not surprised.
  20. Smells good in there too, eh?

Anyone try the new Kodak printers? They are cheap and so are the ink cartridges. I'm pretty jaded to any Kodak product though as I hate the "Not So Easy Share" software they have for digital cameras. Kodak Printers I would NEVER buy another Kodak digital camera but maybe someone has used these new printers and can offer some feedback? My Dad keeps saying he is getting one but we'll see. I go through the HP ink carts like candy and they are very expensive. I tried the refill option for a while but it seemed like I got less printing out of them and the quality sucked too.
  22. I used to filter but found it is usually a pain in the ass, especially in areas where the filter gets clogged easily, like Alaska. I use the tabs and bring the ones that have the "anti-iodine" follow up tabs to get rid of the iodine taste.
