    No snow!

I'm still stuck at the in-laws in Tacoma but my mom tells me we have an 8-10 ft snow drift blocking our front door back home. Hoping the roads open up so I can get back there and dig out.
  2. When I start using the past 24 list of posts I know it’s setting in… At least your not couped up at the in-laws like me . Or maybe you are?
  3. Just give em a grahm cracker, a blankie and a few old ice screws and crampons to play with and be sure to lock all the car doors. Kids are resilient, they'll be fine in the car for a day or three.
  4. If not the cover, at least for the Clucking chapter.
  5. Hard to judge the scale of the ice on Hamilton from here at my house but I bet they are much bigger than they seem from the pics. I've only seen really good ice flows up there a few times in the 3 years I've lived at this house. It would be cool to watch someone send that bee-otch from here with the binocs though. You used to be able to drive right up to the base of the cliffs via the old logging roads but the last few times I've tried, the gate was locked shut at the bottom here in North Bonneville. I might see if it still locked and maybe wander up a bit closer for a better glimpse if I have some time tomorrow.
  6. Sitting here at home gazing at Mt Hamilton. Looks a bit thin but may shape up in the coming days.

    No snow!

Schools are canceled here in the Gorge and we barely have a skiff of snow at my house. What's up with that? I guess some other areas up higher got almost a foot, but come on.
  8. And a whole bunch of acid, dude.
  9. Thread drift... One of my Dead Head buddies that was at those shows in Vegas was a pretty solid climber too. Unfortunately, he was coming home from a day out climbing in the desert and missed a stop sign due to the blinding sunset in his eyes. Both occupants of the other vehicle he hit were killed. My buddy had some weed on him and gave it to a bystander who promptly gave it to the trooper. At least that was the story I got third hand from another mutual friend. He ended up doing over 5 years and I have not heard from him since. He was a super cool guy that would give you the shirt off his back. I've often wondered what he is like now after being locked up for killing 2 people. I'm sure that would mess anyone up. I did send him a couple letters while he was in the big house but don't know if he ever even got them.
  10. I went to 3 Dead shows in Vegas, mainly to see the opening acts. I was bored stiff by the end of the Dead shows. I was certainly in the right "frame of mind" but I just don't get it. Much more like country blues than rock and roll (IMO). However, Santana one year and Steve Miller another were well worth suffering the through the Dead part of the show. Would have left early if my buddies weren't such Dead Heads. And oh, by the way, that patchouli oil stinks. Try taking a shower instead...
  11. I sure arm glad you find this so amusing... Now driving while blind, that's impressive.
  12. You might want to check to fine print on your credit card agreement. Usually, you are covered for any "fraudulent" charges. I'd think this is a pretty clear case of being over-billed. Threaten to take your business elsewhere if they don't see it your way. Usually works for me. Good luck!
  13. Plus, he saved me a ton of money on my climbing insurance. Thanks.
  14. You forgot...
  15. Bullets are AID!
  16. How about an orgazmatron too?
  17. For me, it can cut both ways. Many times I have taken a fall only to realize it is clean, and the gear is solid so I'm able to go back up with a clear head and finish the climb. That's not to say shit can't go wrong with a similar fall the next time up, but it is usually the fear of falling that is really holding me back from committing to the moves. My first lead ever, I was very young and went charging up and quickly got off route into 5.11 territory. when I was supposed to be leading a 5.7 or 5.8. I knew I was going to fall, and it wasn't long before I took about 30' pendulum and shattered my heel. The doc said I'd never run again but I was back climbing (and running) just a few months later. I certainly learned to respect my limitations from that incident but have had many close calls and a few injuries since then. I find myself far more cautious now than when I was young and single but that is probably true for most people even if they never get injured in a fall... Just comes with age and having a family.
  18. Holy miracle Batman, I'm not sure what I saw flying by but it was moving fast... I can't believe you stumbled upon them in the dark. Maybe your Karma is not nearly as bad as I'd predicted?
  19. So does your last post imply you did indeed found them? I'm sure you spent an hour or three hunting down my nut tool too, right? Be careful, that dog might lick you to death!
  20. Why doesn't he just go to Starbucks on the corner like everyone else?
  21. I love trip reports. I love looking at the pictures....but can we call a spade a spade please. A trip report is nothing but spray. "Hey....look at what I climbed this weekend"! Is it not spray to talk about yourself? Even if it’s cool and people like it? I think so……. With that line of thinking, most of the forums should just be called spray, spray and more spray... Granted, Ivan does a TR from every trip to the bathroom and back but I think this one is still in the right category. Maybe they can give Ivan his own forum so as not to upset the boner? We can call it Epic Ivan's Trippin-Spray-Fest.
  22. Does that imply the phantom is still around to chop, chop, chop?
  23. That's a sweet looking rope.
  24. Nice ad, but I wonder if Bob ever came down with lung cancer?
  25. Looks like I should be around Sunday too.
