I've used coleman fuel almost exclusively with my old whisperlite -- and that thing has got to be something like 18 years old. I've never had a problem -- every once in a while I need to take the cleaning pick to the jet, but it's no biggy. Damn stove will probably outlive me (knock on wood)

I've noticed lately that some products list hydrogenated oils as the second or third ingredient, and yet the nutritional label states they are trans fat free. I thought that hydrogenation resulted in the creation of trans fats? How can something contain large amounts of hydrogenated oil, yet have no trans fat?

I took my 4-year old daughter on her first roped climb on Saturday. She had a blast. But, despite lots of coaching and practice on the ground, once she topped out, she was too scared to step off the ledge enough to allow me to lower her. Any suggestions on getting over that?

That white powdery substance is aluminum corrosion. Be careful. I'm not sure about nylon and water damage -- an interesting question. But nylon runners are cheap, your life is not. Why not replace them? Sounds like a bummer, dude. Hope it works out.
