  1. I'm all with you about the "doom to repeat" part. And what happened to the Japanese was inexcusable, but you cant seriously compare it to the Holocaust? I'm not defending what we as a nation did to our own Japanese citizens, but we sure as hell didn't murder 6 million of them.
  2. Maybe go for Sahale, or Dragontail, or Argonaut, or Maude or Black Peak. All of those mountains will give you amazing views and amazing scenery without the chance of you falling in a crevasse. Seriously, you don't have to do the volcanoes to see the Cascades. Also, if your not completely set on climbing, maybe go for a stroll on the Pacific Crest Trail. In my opinion, hiking the PCT is one of the best ways to see the Cascades.
  3. For electrolytes- Nuun tablets (they are wayyyyy better than gatoraid) or Zym tablets (also better than gatoraid) Also, I love bringing an avocado along to add to whatever.
  4. All I can say is that spandex shorts are a frikin necessity on long bike rides. Ever had your dick go numb because the bike seat unmercifully pounds into your chode? I used to think that cyclists looked gay in their outfits, and they do, but now I understand that its better to look gay and have good blood flow into your nether regions than look cool and feel like your ass was raped the next day. Those Hippies are so fucking stupid, they're the kind of people who love you if you agree with them, but call you a fascist and a Nazi if you have any sort of opinion that contradicts their "values", no matter how logical it is. "reason" isn't in their dictionaries, talk about a bad case of cognitive dissonance.

  12. I would vote for climbing on the Baker seracs. You can play around all you want, practice placing screws and making V-threads. Also, the ice is good, and If you want you can saddle up and take the sharp end of the rope. Its a good way to get a feel for what your in for.
  13. Yeah, its hit or miss. You can park in the upper lot, but then you have to ski down to chair 8, which isnt all that bad, what sucks is climbing back up after you are done.
  14. Sounds like something from Enumclaw.
  15. They just need to stop using BPA. Correct me if im wrong, but isnt it a plasticizer? So it lowers the processing temperature of the polycarbonate material that the are using, thereby lowering the manufacturing costs. Isn't it also questionable if the amount of BPA leeching into the water is at a harmful concentration? Still, it seems like most anything can be cancerous or deadly these days.
  16. Im no professional mountaineer, but i am somewhat of an outsider, and I have to say, no one sprays like the folks on cc. Its some of the funniest shit i have ever seen!

  18. I was up in the area just a few days ago, no hope for a few more weeks. I ended up going up the snow creek trail, but had to turn around due to massive avalanche activity.
