Try mastic tape, I am pretty sure it is the same stuff that Petzl uses on the Nomic tool. -

I am looking for a good approach ski used in places like the Alaska Range, I was thinking of something light and short. I came across these: Dynafit ski touring 1.0 (very bottom of page). http://www.life-link.com/dynafit_intro.htm Any suggestions, good bad?? Other ideas?? I am going to use these skis for approaches with mountaineering boots I am not looking for some crazy performance ski.

thanks for the info!! Its a great help!! Here is another random question, say that I want to spend 3-4 months in South America climbing and such, is there some limit to how many times I go up to altitude(above 15,000ish) in 3-4 months?? -

I used those gloves in alaska for picking fish out of nets, never thought about climbing with them... I might have to try...

John - have you used those bugz things?? Do they fog up? I know the Rudy Projects have good ventilation, but sometime nothing works... I hope this helps colin. Oh and I used those glasses in a race in Faibanks AK at -30 below and they did not shatter. good times...
