    SNOW DAY

Why can't Trimet drivers put on their own chains when they're stuck and blocking traffic. Oh, that's right, they're union.
  3. Have him post here and we can go through the proper vetting process prior to the meeting.
  4. It's likely that she found the salacious attention here unwelcome. Pity, I liked her TR's and attitude. Here, perhaps. But maybe not at SP. Just not sure which one she is.
  5. So where are the great deals on the 9mm-9.5mm ropes???
  6. Good luck on the climb Karl. Sounds like from previous posts you have been up on the mountain. Not sure why you feel compelled to rent the Snocat. You'll be paying $100+ for a trip that would only take you 2 - 3 to hours to knock out. I would save the money. Should in be in by Monday. Early Friday it was very questionable.

  8. Portland Public Schools (their numbers): Total Budget $387,600,000 / 47,000 students = $8246/student Multiply that time 30 students (how many kids are in my son's class) and that's $247,383 per year...in ONE classroom. I could send him to a good private school for anywhere from $4000 to $6000 per year. The argument is that PPS has to take EVERYONE (physically/mentally disabled) and that weighs heavily on the budget. A burden private schools just don't have to take on. Ok, I get that. Then let's cut the per student number in half and it is still $4000 per student or $120,000 per year, per classroom. Not to sound like a broken record from another thread, but I think we can also thank the unions again here. I know my son's teacher isn't making much more $40,000 a year. Thanks to collective bargaining that what she makes. But with her talent and in a system not run by the unions, she could easily negotiate a much higher salary. Hell, our school alone fundraised over $750,000 last year. We gladly handed over 1/3 of that to the district (those are the rules) and we still had to make cuts. On top of that, The Oregonian reported that the re-elected Governor Kulongowski (who just annouced some key appointments, one to a union-leader, and another--to a union-leader) says that the new taxes that were passed for schools and the increase in state revenue will not affect classes sizes or quality of education for students. They will go to salaries, pensions (PERS) and benefits. Thank you very fucking much.
  9. I appreciate that. I sent him a message. Thanks
  10. Via what trail??
  11. Which is a very small percentage of union hands on Japanese Vehicles when you cross reference it with the list of Japanese Auto plants in the US. Pick up a copy of Consumer Reports. Year after year almost all of Toyota and Hondas are 'recommended' compared with a small percentage of American cars. Maybe not 100%, but I still think the unions (UAW here) and the way they do business shares a lot of the blame for this.
  12. Do you have to be a "friend or family member?"
  13. Garmont. Don't want to choke on the price for a new pair. So used is great, just in decent condition. 3 or 4 buckle. Thanks
  14. Actually he doesn't. I thought the same thing. But if you play it and stop right when he swings, you'll notice he swings the proper end.

    spray is dead

I see the connection, but I have met ARC, and I think I saw a pic of Jamin. Not the same cat.
  17. William Stephenson, the new owner. Seems like a nice kid. I wonder if 'sis' will be demonstrating any of the new tent features in the nude. 8D
  18. A guide is just that, a guide. They facilitate your trip in varying degrees to (hopefully) get you to the summit. Viesturs said it several times that you can say what you want about the clients that climb Everest. No matter how good the guide is, they still have to put one foot in front of the other to get there. Jamin, my beef with you is your attitude. Like others, I don't know you. But your initial statement about guides and the people who chose to use them was, on any scale, completely off base and inflammatory. You deserve what you got.
  19. Any pics?
  20. I have followed the "Winter Ascent" thread in the partners forum and started to feel a little sorry for you. Not anymore. Have fun on LR punk.
  21. I didn't see it, but perhaps it's the same 'ice climber' in the Lexus commercial...leashed I might add...pussy. gZ2SqeVTVC0 (nice car though)
  22. Get the government involved?!? How about GM get rid of the unions and start making quality cars? Every Toyota I have ever owned has performed flawless. Every American car I have ever owned, no so much. The Toyotas we buy are pretty much manufactured here in the states. American jobs. Those workers seem pretty happy and they make pretty good cars.
  23. Big Agnes? Perhaps they have a bag that isn't necessarily a "2-person sleeping bag" but may be able to offer something in between that has a favorable weight.
  24. I don't know the answer to this question for a fact, but knowing that bridge, and seeing this picture, I would have to guess not.
