I didn't do it today, but 2 weeks ago I sent over my third pair of Desert Boots to another soldier. They have their government issue boots, but evidently, they love these. They're more comfortable, especially in the heat and they tend to last a lot longer. Anyway, it's not much, but I hope it makes thier hard work a little easier.

From Miss Velvet's site: Good job John and Marcus. You'll get the Spider soon.

They've never been ok, IMHO. Not meaning to turn this into yet another "dog vs. no-dog" thread, but why would you drag your mut up there unless you plan on (a) keeping him on a leash AT ALL TIMES, (b) blue bag his crap, and © keep him from barking at all wild animals or other people up there. Seems few ppl w/dogs are considerate of others when I've seen them on the trails. Yeah, imagine how how stressed all those snow worms and red algae get on St. Helens when Fido's not on a leash AT ALL TIMES. And the ravens. How must the ravens feel? Jesus christ, does everyone have to love dogs?? Bring them, don't bring them. I don't care. Why is it so much to expect their owners to keep them under control and clean up after them?

I understand classrooms can be kind of chaotic places, but that must have taken some real planning from the two kid's posse to hide these two knocking it out. And they're 11. Unbelievable.

That's b/c you don't give head well enough.

While we're at it, seems a couple of 11 year old kids have taken advantage of some free time in shop class at this Indiana school.

You're not alone. I bit too.

The bigger question is who got her pregnant? And how?

This product has potential. I'd need several packets to get a buzz-on, but it has potential. -
I thought of that. And DO think of that. They get my money for sure. Maybe I'm a sucker for little kids with cancer, but to see the debilitating pain these little kids (and adults too) go through pales in comparison to those that have found themselves in need of help by thier own choice. No one chooses leukemia.

I definitely second that. I thought originally that because I wasn't descending hardcore--just trying to get back to the car and not having to walk out--that my Verticals would suffice. Not so. I recently got some Mega-rides (Dynafit compatible) and it makes a WORLD of difference. On top of that, they climb well and are as light as my Verticals. I am using Frischi's, but I am considering switching to Dynafits.

There are so many great things the Leukemia Society does, but the thing I like about Team in Training is that you can choose any number of events. Whether it be marathons, triathlons, or cycling events, any ability is welcome. The have great coaching and good seminars on how to raise money. If you need it, they'll hold your hand the entire way. A very solid program. A couple of years ago I ran the Chicago Marathon. I had to raise a boat load of money to get there. It definitely isn't a free ride. And the accomodations are modest at best. When I first learned out how much money I needed I thought there is no way I can raise that much. But I sent out my letters and you would not believe the response I got. People seemed to go out of their way to donate. I sponsored a little girl who was a direct beneficiary of a new drug on the market and she was alive because of it. It was amazing. I made my goal and more. It's been incredibly gratifying.

I know REI has them. They're cheap, so I don't know how extensive they are, but it may be another option.

I've always wanted to do one of those. There used to be one in DT Portland, but to my knowledge it doesn't exist anymore. Seattle has a lot taller buildings so I bet it would be a good challenge. Good luck!

I've been running marathons for the Leukemia Society. Kids with cancer is a tough deal. But running a marathon and raising money is easy compared to what people with the disease go through. You could either send them a check or get involved physically here.

Media glorification of mountaineering accidents

I was there today. Rollins did a fabulous job with his presentation. So did the 304th. Lots of good speakers today. Sounds like the brainstorming session last night at Steve's place was helpful! I'm hopeful this bill will either die, or result in a slight modification to existing statutes. Thank you Iain, Cluck and Steve (whatever avi you fly under) for the hard work...here, in Salem, and mostly on the mountain. :brew: -
Excellent post Pedroslog. Thanks for digging that up.

That's a great story!

Looks like some people are a little uneasy about a porn studio. Not sure why anyone is upset. I thought "anything goes" was the city moto. At least Gavin is on the case. He'll get it sorted out. He might be a little busy with his girlfriend though. Perhaps the city should foot the bill for any inconvenience this has caused this place. Better yet. Raise taxes. That would be a start. Maybe even some sunny Saturday afternoon everyone could get together in Golden Gate Park and put on a sensitivity demo and teach SF families about diversity and tolerance. You know, show them the benefits to keeping a smile on your face while you're hod-tied, being ass-fucked and branded at the same time. It's all good!

Is this what you're talking about? You can be in the park anytime as long as you've registered. You can in fact climb the mountain...via any route. The only thing is you have to walk (or bike/hike/ski/snowshoe/whatever) to get there. Mike's blog explains the details. I know I won't be going up there anytime soon. But a TR from someone would be cool.
