  1. I agree with Ken on this as far as a cooling strategy. Even on hot days, I have left a sixer of Mirror Pond in a hollowed-out downed tree and it's almost perfect. If there is absolutely no way of doing this, and you had to drink something warm, I say stick to an IPA.
  2. We were up there today. Shitty conditions for sure. We actually leap-frogged with this group throughout the morning. We ran into them again at the Hogsback and we asked them what happened to their other partner and they said "we left him down below because he wasn't feeling good." I wondered to myself, where they could have left him in this weather and still make sure he was safe. We saw them again heading up WCR and chatted briefly. They were a friendly couple and from what I could tell the guide seemed like he knew what he was doing and had things under control. I still kept wondering about their other partner. When we reached the parking lot the guide asked us if we had seen their partner anywhere on the descent. He said he wasn't where they left him and that he was concerned that he was still up on the mountain. I thought for sure this was the beginning of something bad. Well, it turned out that he made it back to the car (as billbob mentioned) and was waiting in the lodge. FTR, I don't know the guide. But from what I could tell he had everything handled and seemed very capable. Interestingly, the only thing I had an issue with was what he did with his client. Seemed like a bizzare decision and a poor choice for sure.
  3. Kevin Spacey in Swimming with Sharks.
  4. Now I know where I'm NOT moving! What else is there in life but youporn.com and a nice tall cold one? Have to find a new hobbie...
  5. and we've never had a fraud on this site - or their dog, for that matter...fido? Arc?
  6. Then I would imagine a cute skirt is definitely out of the question.

    This says it all

I sign in this morning and what's the first thing I notice to the left in the Mountain PrOn section? Thanks fidosbitch! It sums up my week perfectly!
  9. 4th Grade: Chief Lalooska Cultural Center. Pretty interesting for the most part. We ended up in the large main tepee gathered around listening to a talk on Native American history. It was very dim in there with really the only light being the fire in the middle of the room. I was sitting in the far back near the wall of the tepee. I turn my head to the right and I see a large Indian man standing above and about 6 feet away from me with some sort of a leather wrap or sarong-type thing around his waist along with the standard Native American regalia on top. Well, he had one leg up on the bench we were sitting on and I see this guy is going full-commando! Junk everywhere! It totally freaked me out! I looked up at him and he gave me this creepy evil grin. I immediately turned my head forward and locked eyes on the speaker. I got the hell out of there when it was over, but I will never forget that.
  10. Possibly. I wonder what the DOCUMENTED worker in line this morning for a job at Del Monte might think about that.
  11. Same as if someone steals from a grocery store to feed their family? What if it's your store? Still ok?
  12. No need for more fences is right. Every employer is able to deduct employees wages. Simply make the employer prove they are legal or don't let those wages be deducted. No need for more fences or more bureaucracy. Let the IRS handle it.
  13. $41.05 later. This better be good!
  14. Race cross. Crashing is mandatory.
  15. That brings up a good question: if someone finds the lost axe, does it then become theirs? What if, they return it to the original owner, does the owner have to return the new axe to the borrowing party? Then as a reward, perhaps the finder of the lost axe should be rewarded with the new axe? Discuss. (a bottle of $2.99 red wine evokes thoughts as this)
  16. "Here's to all my friiieeeeennddsss!!"
  17. I noticed that. To me it's just a different perspective which I really enjoyed. Thanks for the great show.
  18. If/when they find them, you'll know it.
  19. Definitely tele if your comfortable with that. It will also give you a chance to climb in your tele boots to make sure they fit well. I say this because if you've only skied with them, climbing in them is another story. Experience has painfully taught me this. For sure skin up if you have skins. If you need to buy them, plan ahead so that you can fit them to your skis or have the shop do it. It's definitely the way to go. It's a good way to travel and you'll get just as good quad work by skiing down as you would walking in really soft snow. Which does suck. Crampons probably will not be necessary, unless you'd like to try them with your tele boots as practice. It's always a good idea to be swift and comfortable with your gear BEFORE your main trip.
  20. Sounds noble. Good luck!

I'm sure the secret service was all over that bird.
  23. Tandem Rally in Yakima. It's through the wine country so that's a good thing. I hope my 11-year old stoker can hold up his end of the deal!
