Welcome to the dark side chaps, you've officially begun to spray properly.
-
Only the first one, after all the other lines count as having been scouted so they're only a flash.
-
So are boots. So what's your excuse?
-
Might try this stuff. Poly. Coat. Or talk to the people at Seattle Fabrics on Aurora

Only while he's asleep. Til then it'll be whine, whine, whine. oh wait....

Aren't all Ice climbers idiots I thought that was the first and foremost requiremend to enjoy beating your knuckles to a pulp as you wallow up steep shit that's melting as you climb it above pro that is melting out as you climb?

I don't have any of the Snow Tubes, but have played with one just a little bit. They seem to work better in denser snow. They're easier to pound into than pickets but don't have the same surface area. Seems like good for late season, very consolidated snow (but not quite Ice yet) However they probably won't do a damn thing if the snow is at all unconsolidated. You might pester Jim Nelson at PMS, as he carries them.

me thinks it becomes a bail biner.

Soft shell pants simply kick ass for everything!! Well except Smith in the Summer. Also, have you seen some of the newer hybrid softshells? Waterproof/breathable for the hood and shoulders and outer arms, soft shell material through the chest and back. (Acteryx Javelin, REI Taku ) Do a pretty good job balancing things. and i've had mine out in the rain a bunch. Not quite enough for a downpour, but if it's a downpour I'm hiking out anyway... Don't really take my hardshell anymore unless it's an extended trip somewhere.

Last year I told Garth about thin metal on cold shuts on Block Head. He went and replaced them with chain. After one season, they were worn half-way through. That's a lot of lowering! Don't you mean tension assisted toproping?
-
Or: "Don't brag to the big dogs about chasin' pussy when the mere thought of it makes you piss yourself." this may be PotD Truly! Has my vote!
-
stoopid wanker. That's what you get for going to a minnesotan climbing sight.
-
wtf? source please. Somehow I can't imagine enough bio-diesel has been burned in the history of the world to do jack shit.

Keep us updated on the small splitter designs in the small Trango's. I've been curious how they preform. Also, do they sacrifice much range do to the configuration?
-
Do you really want mikey serving you hot-dogs on a stick after a weekend of fighting off goats at Washington Pass?
-
Don't be dissin' double-duty hermaphrodites! might bring a whole new meaning to the expresion "Go screw yourself?"
-
well there is that nice flat spot on top of the western most one with the big overhang?
-
My word your'e all touchy today! We are in spray aren't we?

Must admit that's pretty good!

Nope, she's actually going into OB-GYN so no more ER for her. That was just from her ER rotation a couple of years ago. ... point is you can probably save more lives by enforcing/encouraging seat belt wearing than by say, enforcing homeland security in washington.
-
I was a first responder on an accident scene several years ago involving a role over with three guys in the car, none of whome were wearing their seatbelts. 1 was thrown clear, managed not to get run over (we were on I-90 outside of spokane). Of course his buddy was also thrown out, dragged under the car, and we had to proceed to lift it off his head. He recovered eventually after 5 or 6 months in the hospital. If nothing else my sister (the brand new Dr. after last weekend ) tells me the ER people are mean to you if you don't wear a seatbelt or a bike helmet They'll treat, but it may be a little extra unpleasant

Good for you Marie! Your the kind of people I want owning a gun. Responsible, safe, and intelligent. Me? I'd probably shoot myself in the ass since I have no idea what i'm doing, I don't want me owning a gun. Now, very serious question. Would a background check, a short waiting period, mandatory safety classes, or a requirement that cars, or airplanes, oops I mean guns be provided with trigger locks have made a difference? The big difference between guns and climbing is that i'm not very likely to kill anyone other than me and my climbing partner if I screw up a cam placement, and it's his own damn fault for climbing with me. Big things that can kill other people are another story.

Woman Dies Falling from Inflatable Climbing Wall
selkirk replied to catbirdseat's topic in Climber's Board
Huh CBS? You want to pay more to pull plastic? -
actually read an interesting analysis looking at small cams and high factor falls, and they basically concluded that for the little ones, the failur mechanism isn't actually the cam pulling in the typical sense, but literally shearing off the metal in contact with the rock. So running it out on little blue TCU's right off the belay, says the guy who ran it out a little on blue TCU past the belay last weekend....
