  1. None of you know what the fuck you are talking about. Doctors rich? Not anymore, relative to other professions, unless you're a cardiologist. And nurses make a damn good salary, but certainly nothing exhorbitant. You all neglect to mention that litigation has driven costs through the roof. Of course you'd reject any reform of the "legal system" - your sacred fucking cow. As for "revolution", just try it. You and your party will go down the shitter just like last time with BillaryCare of 1992.
  2. Fuck socialism and all socialist cocksuckers! Eat shit and die, pinko, demo-liberals!

    Slayer

Well, I've listened to them from "the beginning" and the album rocks.

Fer sure!!! and justice was the first album that marked the demise of metallica, just sucked. I saw slayer last year, couldnt decide who was funner to watch: the crowd or the band Yeah right. "One", "Blackened", "The Shortest Straw" just suck.

I am partial to Metallica pre black album. Even Black has some "Ok" songs. But what is your favorite Metallica album? I would have to say "And Justice for All". I think Ride the Lightening and Master of Puppets are my faves. I agree The balck album has a few good songs. I saw Metallica live several times, including twice when Cliff was still alive. Day on the Green, Bay Area, circa 1983 or 1984, when Ride the Lightning just came out was golden!
  7. It's OK. I prefer party sizes of 3-4 myself. At least there were only 14 people on route the whole day, eh? 2 weeks ago I went to St. Helens with a friend. Party size = 2. There were 300 people on the friggin' mountain that day.
  8. stupid except for the nice boot path you got to follow until just below high pass?
  9. I've never had a bladder burst on me. On climbs, I usually use them for summit day only when my pack is mostly empty. When it's below freezing I use extra care to keep the tube and nozzle from freezing. I may do a carry over next month which will make me rethink using a bladder though since my pack will be stuffed full on summit day.
  10. Your musings from the fringe can be, at least, mildly entertaining, but would you try to engage intellectually instead of throwing around the childish "race card" continually? It's a tool of "tools". you are looking at a different race and culture and criticising it. intelligence and posturing are not same. truth and mediatised sensationalism are not same. STFU, you babbling tool
  11. Our last two Democrat presidents were evangelical Christians - both were Baptist. Would you argue that your hatred of Bush really has anything to do with his religious beliefs and its effect on his politics considering that the Baptist sect is at least as evangelical as the Methodist sect is, and could hardly be any less inimical in your eyes?
  12. You guys are all in fine form this evening.
  13. Are you some kind of Unitarian or something? As the guy was arguing last night: either you believe Jesus was the son of god or you don't. If you do believe that, you must also believe that those who do not believe it are wrong. You must believe that you have an important knowledge of the truth that they are lacking. We see nuance and variation within a given sect, but whether you are a Tibetan Buddhist or an Evangelical Christian, there are certain core beliefs that you have accept as "true," no? (I could be wrong, as I never went to divinity school, but I think that is how it works.) Let me rephrase - I believe what I believe and that it is "right". However, I don't look at other's beliefs and judge them as "wrong" -it's a matter of mindset, especially since I can't prove they are wrong. It's a matter of faith.
  14. I don't think of my religion as "right" and others as "wrong". I do judge individual beliefs as right or wrong.
  15. Exactly. Each and every sect thinks it knows better than the other sect, and knows better than anyone else. It doesn't matter if the ideas conflict with science. Faith means not listening to anyone else's argument with an open ear. Quite the contrary. Men and women of faith are praised and held in the highest esteem for being steadfast in closing their minds to ideas that might contaminate the dogma. I find that most visceral attacks against religion are not made in a response to actual incidents of religious people engaging in a "I know better than thou" attitude, but rather, by the conscience of those who reject religion and God. Furthermore, those who attack all religious people, and faiths with a broad-brush are exhibiting the same disrespect, dismissiveness, ignorance, and outright arrogance that they claim to be rallying against.
  16. So, people are "ignorant" when the polls are negative to "your side" but worth citing when the opposite is true.
  17. Mizuki was one of the fittest people I ever met. I did a conditioner with her up to Muir last April and couldn't keep up with her - despite the fact that her pack was 20 lbs heavier than mine (55lbs) and I outweighed her by 40 or 50 lbs. When she was geared up and in the mountains, she was in her element. She looked like she belonged there. And as others have said, she was very mild mannered, quiet, and very respectful. I remember going up my first friction pitch with her looming over the top. I struggled the whole way up and she remarked "good job" - a real confidence builder. RIP, Mizuki
  18. I was headed up to a climb when our driver told me he had noticed a nail in his tire. We swung by Les Schwab to see if they could fix it. This was 30 minutes before closing but they helped us out. The job was worse than we and they thought... when removing the lugnuts, the bolts got stripped... totally rusted out. They had the replacement bolts in stock and managed to still got us out of there in 40 minutes, and the bill was only $30!
  19. depending on their level of participation, I'd be comfortable meting out appropriate punishments. really folks, if what we are having a problem with is that this goes on under our noses, then that's damn easy to fix, considering we occupy the country and have huge sway over the government there.
  20. Fine, let's find the guys that did this and execute them immediately. Do you support that?
  21. Fairweather: take my advice and add that worthless piece of shit to your ignore list. Your life will be a lot more pleasant - consider it like DEET for a human nuisance.
  22. Domestic violence and murder of women occurs in the US too. We have plenty of newstories of the vilest murders.
  23. There was this guy named Saddam Hussein who dumped poison on the Kurds when they pulled shit like that. The Kurds stopped pulling shit like that. Fucked up world, that, but then to their deaths we sent thousands of our own -- to fix things. That's the most idiotic statement I've ever heard.
  24. those people are fucking nuts
