Bugaboo Spire, East Ridge
Mount Rainier, Liberty Ridge
Forbidden, West Ridge (About twenty times ...on the gov't payroll)
Stuart, N Ridge
That's it for me. But I liked them all...
I have to agree with Reid, your night photography page is stunning. Especially that Milky Way shot!! Atsa keeper! Reminds me of John Dittli's photography.
Go short, easy shakedown trips to get them used to systems and trail living. Sierra Trading Post has had some deals on soft packs designed for women that have shorter torso length that works for kids ...it's called the Lowe Alpine Systems Merak model. Also, Jansport makes a frame pack sized for kids. I believe they call it the Scout model. My kids like the Lowe better.
Glad it worked out for you. I visited Paradise a few weeks ago... It's pretty goofy now with all the snow and construction. If you've never been to Sunrise -on the other side of the mountain- I recommend it. Spectacular views, and the day hike to Mt. Fremont Lookout from Sunrise area is not to be missed.
When hiking out the ridge from Sibley you'll be looking for a place to cross over the ridge to the east and descend a gully. Don't take the first one -take the second one. The first one may look like it goes, but it's wrong.
There's this grizzly bear. Really big one. Probably 10 feet tall when he stands upright. So he goes into a burger joint and says, "I'll have a burger and.......
fries."
The kid behind the counter says,"Why the huge pause?"
How do you pedal that thing, Porter?
Actually, I saw one of these parked by the Upper Dungeness Trailhead yesterday, so I'm rethinking my two-wheeled transportation paradigm...
