  1. It's gonna be good, hit it.
  2. This research makes clear that chest compressions are the most important component of CPR and are more effective when done properly. The instructors for the EMT course I just finished placed great emphasis on doing them perfectly. The key is to make sure you take all your weight off the chest between presses so the heart has time to refill. If you are doing them properly, chest compressions are not "easy as hell"; you will get tired and begin to unconsciously lean on the patient. Rotate every few minutes with another rescuer if at all possible.

    FUCK

Oh wow, this is truly the worst thread I have ever seen. The title was so promising, and all I get is a bunch of pictures of stupid ass little kids' shit. Boo.
  4. HELL MOTHERFUCKIN' YEAH
  5. Okay, I'm finally over the jealousy. Now I'm simply happy for you guys and the ride you had. Stellar photos!
  6. I figured the number was your personal post count, including avatars of course.
  7. I would really like to see you incorporate a feature used on TGR: the little thread preview (first few sentences of the original post) that appears when you hover over the thread title. I always miss it when I come back to cascadeclimbers after a mag session.
  8. What a great thread! There is some truly useful information here. Muffy, how are things progressing on your quitting-sugar quest?
  9. Is anyone even considering not going to this?? Note to SAC: You might want to provide extra chairs.
  10. Last year I broke my fibula skiing, but no surgery was required. I skied six weeks later, though clearly your fracture is more serious. Eric makes a good point about how after so much time on crutches, the muscles will have atrophied and offer little protection to your joints. I would take into account what your orthopedic surgeon says but make your own decisions based on what your body is telling you: if your legs feel strong and stable, start easing back into skiing. And don't give too much weight to what people on the internet tell you! Good luck.
  11. Bummer - sucks when the season ends before it begins, eh? I had my ACL replaced in August with the hamstring graft. If I were to do it over again, I'd go with the allograft instead because of the quicker recovery time. As you mentioned, there's the ever-so-slight chance of infection or your body rejecting the foreign tissue, but my doctor pointed out that the donor graft tends to stretch less, and the operation for an allograft is less invasive. I believe it is the better choice as long as your doctor is experienced in that type of replacement. Best of luck to you.
  12. I'm selling a men's size small Alpha Comp Hoody in Azul (super-sexy blue). It is the 2005 version. I cut the tags off but never wore it; one glance will reveal that the jacket is brand new. Here's a link to the current version: Hoody $225 pick up in Seattle; add $5 for shipping in the US
  13. Elite or not, who can pass up $2 pitchers? See y'all there.
  14. You got it, Jim. Dante's address is 5300 Roosevelt Way NE. Ross, we'll miss you! So much, in fact, that I may just drink two extra pitchers for you.
  15. In case you haven't been following this thread and are too lazy to click on pages 1 & 2, let me recap: DANTE'S TONIGHT (THURSDAY) AT 8
  16. Dante's this Thursday. 8 PM. Be there.
  17. Eh, screw you guys and your elitist bar-hopping.
  18. Huh? $2 pitchers are Thursday night.
  19. I think I'm coming down with a severe case of Ski Sickness , but there's no way I'd miss this slideshow! Confidential to Sky: Don't forget to pay me for saying that.
  20. Yes!
  21. The place that neighbors the liquor store sounds like the way to go!
  22. Shitty year, indeed. Just think, though, Porter - as soon as you bounce back from this accident, you're set for at least a decade! Best wishes.
  23. BUMP To get the discussion back on track, I'd like to hear an update from the people who have now been using these shoes for several months as opposed to several days.
