[TR] North Cascades - Ptarmigan Traverse (with 7 summits) 7/27/2007
Pandora replied to timmy_t's topic in North Cascades
Wow, it looks like you had a little bit of everything on this trip. Thank you for the writeup and photos, they're awesome. -
What do you think about skiing it?
-
Christy and I discussed it and we think the party should start a bit earlier - we're going to arrive around sixish. Hope to see some of you there!
-
The hangdog route.
-
I must admit that he had it first. I only got one in hopes that it would transform me into a skiing superstar, but no such luck!
-
Short answer: No!
-
I picked up my Thermawrap parka from Pro Mountain Sports after tearing the sleeve of my down puffy, and it's all I've used since. The hood is key since it traps so much heat. Mine still looks brand new after a winter of ski touring, though I was quite careful to avoid skiing through closely spaced trees while wearing it. It is indeed Ultra Light, which also means you're sacrificing some warmth and water resistance, however the synthetic insulation makes that less of an issue. I think it's ideal for three- (or even four-) season use if you don't plan on long periods of inactivity. As a bonus, hot guys like the one shown at left will instantly be attracted to you!
-
Christy, I'll go if you do.
-
I know I'm not the only person in the state of Washington who has Friday off and wants to climb cracks! Granite is preferred but I'm happy to jam choss as well. PM me.
-
LOL! Was it green before unloading the noseful of goobers, or only afterwards?
-
I tried, and got a message that your phone won't accept incoming calls.
-
I'm hunting for someone to launch a crack attack with me this Friday and Saturday in L-worth; the forecast looks fucking bomber! PM me if interested.
-
Yeah right, n00b!
-
One day only? Ah, you're in Oregon already; I suppose you have such luxuries...

Jeez, what a fuckin' tool. -
Does ANYBODY else have these three days off? I'm thinking a trip down to Smith is in order, but I'm open to suggestions.
-
Which type of choss do you want to climb - bolted or trad?
-
I think you're mis-reading the market here. Hmm, it's not like I'm hawking my Capilene thongs. Or is that your point?
-
Clint, you would be the height of fashion in the Patagucci tank. And just for you, a reduced price of $7!
-
I have the biggest pinecones you could wish for, John. But you knew that already.

That shot caught my eye as well, I love the natural pattern. The photos sure make this trip look like a great way to spend New Year's Eve.
