  1. i'd disagree with that. i think you have every right to return them if the sales people told you definitively that they were half ropes. the shop has more responsibility to be properly informed than the customer. they could just as easily have looked at the rope ends, and they should know the markings are there.
  2. fyi, i think that ce requires that the end of the ropes be marked with the ropes usage http://www.thebmc.co.uk/Feature.aspx?id=1440
  3. i wouldnt use twins as halfs, even if simply for the psychological aspect. i would hope that 2nd ascent would take them back, given that they misrepresented them to you.
  4. on sale today for 20% off. add 20 % off coupon (59488) and you can get both tools for $236 shipped.
  5. the previews for the new beowulf looked idiotic, but it actually got really good reviews. did you go see it Ivan? wondering if it is worth the time/money. i liked the new king kong. the special effects were amazing and I liked the story.
  6. that video is awesome. if we could get a 70mpg diesel in the states, i'd be psyched to check one out.
  7. sounds pretty cool. it will be interesting to see how it holds up experimentally. i tried reading the real paper, but had a very hard time making it much further than the intro.

  13. thanks for the show mike. i learned a lot from the how to climb segment.
  14. Thanks for the explanation Marlene. A few springs ago I attempted go cat go, but was unwilling to commit to the moves below the roof where the only pro I could find were some small (but good I think) nuts. I had been hoping for sometime to go back and climb the route in it's entirety. I am sure it is a very fun sport climb, but vantage has enough sport climbs and perhaps not enough high quality moderate mixed gear routes with challenging but adequate pro. I was upset to see the bolts, knowing I would never have the chance again to climb the route in its prior state. BTW, thanks for all the hard work you guys put in out there.
  15. there is a long standing tradition of rating boulder problems, particularly crack problems, with yds grades in some parts of the US (montana, wyoming, etc). If local ethics in rodellar support a similar approach, why not just accept it.
  16. you are in good company:
  17. Each print is signed and numbered by an artist and is part of a limited edition series of 250,000. Once these are gone, there won't be any more for awhile. Don't hesitate to own this inspiring work!
  18. While googling some art for my house, I came across this artist - http://www.jonaskaskade.com/aboutkaskade.html His work is amazing and his dedication enviable. "I saw a flock of sheep one day, grazing in the mountain meadows, with the mighty Mount Rainier in the background, and thought of our Savior and how much he might like living there, in an English cottage near an ice-capped volcano, with the disciples coming over for breakfast and coffee, just like in the Bible or something." - J. Kaskade
  19. from when I last researched boots, i recall the nepal having something like twice the insulation of the extreme.
