  1. I've heard that ballet dancing is really good training for rock climbing.
  2. I wasn't kidding in my TR when I said 700 people. I have never seen that many people on one hike before. Japanese tourists. Extremos totally geared to the gills. Old folks out for an afternoon stroll. Mom, Pop, and the kids. The Swedish Bikini Team. Snowboarders. Skiers. Mountie brigades. More than one person carrying their baby up in a baby backpack thinger. All following a boot track bigger than I-5 past wands placed every 50 feet all the way up to Muir. Of course, if it is dumping snow or they haven't put out wands, then it could be different for you.

  4. Do you know the meaning of the word "duh"? I didn't think so.
  5. Speak American, or git!
  6. Better luck next year, and thanks for sharing your experience up there. I seem to remember the specific post you seem to be referring to. Try to remember that this is a free bulletin board, and when you ask a question you're going to get all kinds "advice". When you ask your question next year, you might want to give specific information about your plans, your level of experience, and what exactly it is you want to know. That said, someone will probably tell you to "climb the mountain on her terms not yours" anyway. In the end, that is what you'll end up doing. If you thought that stuff was annoying, you haven't seen the anything, as far as this board is concerned. Again, best of luck next year. I'll leave you with this advice: Do or do not. There is no try.
  7. Killer. I'm waiting that book you're working on.... "Life, and How to Live It" by KaskadskyjKozak. Should be an authorative read. Hopefully it will translated in the English.
  8. Here is an award winning trip report about a hike up to Muir in June. * *The recommendation for the application of McGriddle cakes is withdrawn since the Surgeon General declared them to be a health hazard. I've heard that McDonalds is doing a full recall on McGriddle cakes, so if you have them you may want to return them.
  9. I just talked to Kristen (Trust for Public Land). It is a done deal, but definitely still send in money if you can, because any money will decrease reliance on Access Fund money. I'm going to send in some with matching from my company today.
  10. I believe the statue was orginally from Poprad, and was taken down during the Czech revolution in 1989.
  11. Dood, it's called postmodern "appropriation". They've reappropriated Lenin into something that stands for nekkid bike riding chikkas.
  12. So...are the children saved?
  13. This is just wrong. I see nary a set of gaitors nor shorts over polypro on either of these beasts.
  14. This is all a mess. I think he means thread and not post. I'm not even sure that a pre-chestbeat is, but if one existed, I'm pretty sure I would be good at it.
  15. I don't know about that. Specialed's post wasn't anything "special". I've pre-chest beat myself silly ten times better than that post.

    Bear v Shark

How is it that this is not a 5 star thread.
  17. After Harry Potter turned himself and John McEnroe into buffalos, they jumped the net and then relaxed in a kiddie pool full of jello. After that, they joined Dru in his effort to save the children. Then everyone lived happily ever after. Amen, Godbless, The End.
  18. I've seen it, and Parallelojams is indeed by far the coolest part of the show. Gnar gnar Indian Creek crack.

    Dru!!!

Dru has decided to stop posting on CC.com and instead spend all his time saving the children. He is really a role model for all of us.
  20. Damn! Thats some nasty stuff. Again, glad you guys are ok!
  21. click me for information
  22. Don't give up Kim. Come to the Climber's pick-nick and you'll probably meet people who'll go climbing with ya (who aren't looking for a date).
  23. I'm on fire.
  24. These two guys are definitely raising the bar. It's going to be a tough act to follow. Maybe carry at full sized DigDug up the West Ridge?
