  1. Not disagreeing with you, but it is pretty amazing how "passionate" folks are about this argument, which I suppose pits "access" vs "winderness". As in, if the land is the peoples land, but they are too out of shape, handicapped, or unmotivated to use it then what do they care what happens to it. So people want to maintain existing roads and infrastructure so that enough people use the land and care about it and will maintain it. This "shit hole" is governed by the people (at least in theory) and if the majority would rather drive their RV to managed facilities rather than backpack in to unmanaged wild spaces...that group will win. And on the other side is those that see the value in wild spaces, not just in the landscape but in the mind. A place were you can go and escape the humans, the crushing spread of the humanity. A place were you won't be hassled by the Man. I would think that all of us here are in that group, but actually it isn't so. I recall some spirited arguments back and forth whether to rebuild/restore the Dose road washout on the Oly Pen. Barring some great scythe like a virus or war that wipes out the human race and knocks population back it sure seems like things will only get worse and worse if you want to escape your fellow man or enjoy solitude. We can create more wilderness by designation, but there is going to be more and more people getting sick of being stuck in an RV traffic jam. Just try to go camp at a state site on the Washington coast during the summer. If you didn't reserve your campsite 9 months in advance, you are SOL. The earth isn't getting any bigger.
  2. Move to Canada you patriot!

  6. Also..thank you for sharing the TR @Matt Lemke !
  7. The first photos is a link to the whole Flickr album, I just pasted the URL to the Flickr album in the post and the software automatically set it up that way.. Notice that it allows you to toggle through all photos in the ablum. The second photo is a link to a particular photo, so you can do it that way if you prefer too.
  8. Well disk space is only getting cheaper and cheaper. I think the problem we've seen with CC.com TRs is actually the reverse of what you describe @Matt Lemke I've seen a number of TRs photos go away because the externally hosted photos are no longer available. That sucks, we've had some great TRs neutered of their photos because the photos where hosted on a site where either the site is gone now, or their URL structure changed. That said, I sure how the Flickr, Google Photos, etc don't go away because I'm a big Flickr user. They just got acquired by SmugMug, so I hope they don't have any big changes. That said... have you tried to embed photos in this site with another source? I think it works awesome in the new software. You just past the URL and the software autosenses and displays it.

  14. https://www.momentumclimbing.com/sodo/ Can't believe I just learned about this yesterday, but there are two new climbing gyms going in in Seattle by Utah-based Momentum Climbing. Lots of things I don't understand, but I'm totally OK with given that the locations are convenient to me: Why are they opening two locations so close to one another? I get that one will be bouldering and that the other will also have ropes. How they fit in with the second location with the SBP, whom Cascadeclimbers.com has partnered with in the past...other than yeah...ropes will make them different. Anyway, cool to see more options to get your pump on!

  19. Not sure why imbedding a link doesn't work, but you can always attach the image to the post and it displays. Something nutty with the image display processing for linked images... I'm talking about embedding those images to display in post.
