Quite frankly I'd have to agree that the search function is pretty bad on this board. It can be hard to get *any* results with it if you're casting a wider net.
Unfortunately that is an underpinning of the software we use currently and quite possibly also related the the CPU/disk we're on.
I'd agree that for "power searchs" google is probably a better choice for the site right now.
We'll be making some decisions about the board software at some point, and that is going to be a factor.
I'm just glad we can have these frank, open, and spray free conversations without a bunch of jackassery.
Thanks for your thoughts on the site. I'm glad its working out ok most of the time for you guys.
I'm not compelled to drive down there and climb that shart when there is better quality up here. But someday I'd like to go down there and embarrass myself with the you guys down in the Portland area. but someday never comes.
well you can drive to 3'O Clock Rock parking since last weekend (my low slung Honda did ground out a bit on the place were the road is normally washed out, but its OK). Not sure about other Darrington access.
Not true at all Dru. It may be the case in some instances, but the most partner requests I see here are people who just want to get out and climb and can't find anyone with the same sort of schedule that they have.
Post in the partners section. Be honest about your ability. If your experience is negative, let me know.
I think much of the negativity you mention is a factor of the original poster's query. Some people just come off like they have a helmet with the words "Crash" written on it. You don't come off as such a person.
You should be able to post as a newbie (or experienced) glacier climber or peak grabber and not get grief.
