Have you guys hiked up to Twin Falls in winter? No trekking poles. No traction just boots. An alder branch. Until you have done this you are all just my sons and daughters. And I love you.

Heck even the waterfall at the Quilceda Casino/outlet mall looked in on Sunday. Sorry no pics.

Who can make it? I'll try to get up there with my jolly bag of CC.com stickers. If you're in West Seattle maybe we can car pool.

Anyway I think I even bought that book (Gravity's Rainbow) because of the username...but I haven't read it yet.

Yep agree. I was just watching a youtube channel this past weekend and they were exploring an old gold mine down in California. It was a huge adit, with passage ways going everywhere. They found a ton of that old steel left in the mine that looked exactly like that, and you could see the business end of them where they were pretty used up. I think you could also hook them onto a machine driven by a compressor or something? Or at least the mine in the Youtube vid had one.

If LaSportiva don't fit your feet I think these are equal to the TX4s. I picked up a pair last year when in Austria because the mountaineering boots I had brought were tearing up my feet (not sure why I had tons of miles in them already), so I used the Scarpas on my hut hike and they are really nice. I don't know if it was just a Euro thing, but the version i bought are a sweet teal color: https://us.scarpa.com/mescalito-men-s They are so comfy I've taken to just wearing them as every day shoes.

Same. I used/still use Gaia GPS for a long time but they were bought and now my photos no longer sync from my phone with the free version. I really like the typos on CalTopo, now my go to when researching an area.

He passed away in an accident when descending a route in the North Cascades. That is all I have, maybe someone else knows more.

Again, you will need a time machine.

Good morning, this suit was posted for sale like 14 years ago. Unless you have a time machine, this transaction is unlikely. -
Mountain Hardwear Absolute Zero Suit NEVER USED
olyclimber replied to Kerr Adams's topic in The Yard Sale
Good morning, this suit is probably well full of farts by now as it was posted for sale over 10 years ago. -
Last night I was researching an area on here and came across one of @SmilingWhiteKnuckles Trip reports. I always liked reading what he shared here. Made me think of other people who used the site taken by accidents over the years. Here to those taken too early.
