Our hosting company was recently purchased and this resulted in significant increase in monthly cost for hosting as they jacked the rates. AAI has increased their support to continue to support the full cost of hosting. I did just do another upgrade...a monthly "keeping the lights" on thing....

I had to take down the search I was working on with the dev I had. Too many bugs and I was not happy how things were going with him. He kept delivering something other than what I was asking and making pretty bad UI. There were also complications with our board given how old it is, and he was not willing to deviate from vanilla install. At this point you can use Google or the general site search. Sorry. I'm super busy right now and I just don't have time to work on this right now. I'm going to keep the lights on of course, but I just don't have time to improve the site. If you have coding skills then DM me.

Well as I said there are huge limits as to where you can bring a dog,. It varies park to park but here are a few examples: in the ONP: in the NCNP: personally I’m not complaining about it. I just look at it as differing land use rules with different goals in mind for each agency that manages the land. I can take Kiba into the national forest and wilderness areas. There are TONS public lands he can be on, so we just go there instead.

Quite contrary to every single TR I posted last year...in fact I didn't really go into the park system at all as I wanted to be with my dog and he isn't allowed in there with minor exceptions.

I'm not sure I follow your logic there, but as far as "affordability" I would love to see the Park system maintenance be paid out of the general funds and be free to enter for all. As for what that video shows, I think unless we start building roads into the center of the NCNP and put a big parking lots near to the most "Insta" worthy vistas that NCNP will never "share its full load". I'm ok with that never happening, I understand you may see it differently. And seems like the biggest cost in those "Insta worthy" places is preventing overuse/destruction. Perhaps you can show articles/websites/documents that show otherwise, but besides providing an "escape valve" the key purpose of the park system was more to preserve and protect wild places for all people....including future citizens. In this day and age that seems pretty dang difficult given the garbage heaps modern masses seem to leave behind, and the general lack of respect demonstrated time after time these day. The problems of the NCNP are nothing compared to a number of places. Can you hear those people in Port Townsend and Vashon humming along?

Actually believe it or not this is one of the solutions (or part of it).

Spam is way down since I have to approve every registration! But seriously if you’re a human who wants to use the board I haven’t looked yet. I get to it!

There is a chance I over did it with the ban hammer. If you are a real human and want to use the site let me know via the contact feature at the bottom of the site. Tell some basic info that proves you are not a spammer and what the user ID you registered with.

They just keep coming...so until I figure out an effective method registrations will be manually approved. Unfortunately the hCaptcha isn't working right.

Checked in with the forum community and many other communities had the same spam attack this morning.

On the plus side....registrations are UP!!! But they were all spammers...holy crap.

Registration is admin approved for now until there is a solution. FUCK OFF AND DIE SPAMMERS
