  1. P Diddy called us,he was letting us know to get out the vote...yo!
  2. Sharon was backed into a corner, he had no choice but to do something I'm sure that Arafat will find some way to screw it up... He might get exposed for the total fruad that he is. A very strange situation indeed, the Palistinians need Isreal to go away. As soon as this happens, the population will reject any government that suggests peace with Isreal. It is hard to get international respect when you don't have a country, with not much hope of one.
  3. Make an "adventure rope". 50 feet is enough to get you in trouble. Good for leading or protecting bouldery or exposed short moves on easier ground.
  4. Do we get to "jump you into the gang" now?
  5. Heed! Pants!...now!
  6. 5.12? Just move to Red Rocks, where everyone can climb 5.12!
  7. Bush would be buying his way up the big "E". Sitting around base camp in a day glo dune suit, sat phone in one hand, a white russian in the other. A favorite of the Sherpas, dubya entertains them with promises of large payoffs after a sucessful summit bid.
  8. Steelhead * Chinook Sockeye Coho Chum * the only true trout, but all are salmonoids .
  9. We got 6'' of fresh up at mt. Charleston last night...
  10. Hey buddy, I'm the only one who posts Mrs. Granite photos around here.
  11. The best thing I ever did was realize that I really wanted to be there. I am much happier to be there, so much less stress. (well, until the s#!t really hits the fan...) The value of a good attitude is priceless. It also helps to climb with fun people.
  12. I was all of 17 years old, eating pizza with the late, great Craig Kelly. He had bought a piece of land in Glacier and needed help clearing the property. I had a chainsaw, so we spent a summer day falling small alders. On the way home we stopped and got a pizza. When he ordered a pitcher of Bud, the only thing I could do was smile and tip my glass to the man, a true hero. You are missed by many, requiesca in pace
  13. Buy a Glissade!!!
  14. Morphine's Cure for pain was one of three CD's that played at Cascade Crags for over two years. Mark Sandman, you are missed,...... you stupid bastard.
  15. New primate has been sighted in Africa, locals say: keep hands in the car Reaching heights of over 6 foot, this creature has been seen to be quite fierce, killing lions, terrorizing villagers. Word leaked out that Hollywood heavyweights, including Tom Hanks, Stephen Spielberg and Jerry Brukenheimer among others, were scrambling to secure the rights to this creature's story. Interviewed by phone in London, Jane Goodall was quoted saying "I think they know to name this little bastard after...I like the sound of Janecanzee or prehaps Goodilla, something dignifided and suiting my lifetime of brilliant discoveries. BBC WEB PAGE
  16. Considering that 60% of the snow and ice is gone from their mountains, They are trying to fill up the void... we will make it twice as hard to climb because we have lost half of our routes!
  17. Any of you cats climbed in the whitney portal area? I have googled the area and come up with some stuff, but any addl. beta is appreciated.
  18. I worked with the Black eyed Peas the other day, the girl is so freaking hot!
  19. Terraserver image of ragged ridge
  20. A copy of the collected works of Aaron Copland found their way into my world. Yesterday we played Fanfare for the common man before an afternoon trail run at Mt. Charleston...My lady said she felt like she was in the Olympics. Aaron Copland
  21. The Black Corridor smells like pee. IMO the worst crag in Red Rocks. Other alternatives include the Ragged edges area and The Gallery, Family crag and the boulders at Calico basin.
  22. I've done the Potter system (carrying a few bits of kit and a 8mm) for some longer solos. I take the gear along to harvest the rich booty crop that grows down here.
  23. Cannibal crag. The best after work, easy hike, good view, walk around to the top-rope rock in all of Red Rocks. If I may throw in my personal opinion: just take her scrambling. It's low tech and way more fun than technical climbing. The savy might bring a short chunk of rope to ease the way past hard bits. Really good fun! Go in the afternoon and watch the sunset from atop the hill above Red Springs, the city beginning to glow in the distance... PS: take TWO headlamps!
  24. SLC has a thriving counter culture, a good place to like punk rock, blondes and right hand turns. Boise?.... I've heard of it, that little town just past Mountain Home.
