I'm teaching my brother in law to climb, he's a kid from Leavenworth who is just getting into climbing for the first time. Does any body have any good beta for him to get started toproping and bouldering in 11worth?

A late season recon up the Crabby Appleton gully to investigate a hunch. This watercourse takes an exciting line up the western side of Magic mtn. 4th and 5th class scrambling leads to loose talus and finally, a small pass. My hunch was true! The top of Olive Oil was 50 feet away.... this means that a savy Olive Oil team can drop down to any of the popular long routes in the south fork of Pine creek in a matter of 20-30 minutes. Tired from the hike, I find a sheltered spot and fall asleep in the sun...dog dreams again!

I must admit, he is my best climbing partner! If you don't know Risky Runout, he is one cool cat...ladies beware!

I was talking to a friend about the north fork crag ... Anyone ever get out there and climb? He describes a huge cave, 90 feet tall, filled with sick hard routes.

Funny, summer is popular gym time for Vegas...115 is just too hot to climb. 100 is ok, as long as it's in the shade....no, this is not a joke. You see...in august, the locals climb naked in Black Velvet all summer. Night climbing is also popular, with group night ascents of long routes.

What about the tales going around about somebody onsight free soloing Young Warriors and getting lost high on the route?

I heard about a winter that never came.... Most of those other things are currently happening right now up the North fork of the Skykomish. As far as gold, funk and antiques, Monte Cristo was the place. A huge boom town in the day, nothing ever "panned out".... We did get Everett out of the deal, as the town was proped up to be the western railroad terminus for the ore shipped out from Monte Cristo.

It's a cool tradition to use heriloom stones from your/ her family. I was given a diamond from my grandmother's wedding ring. We put it into a new setting that looked exactly like her old ring. My mom cried. It was cool

You get three squares..or strikes...you are out Example: "read the instructions!!!...B-12!) Now, if you are not B-12,say" miss" my insult will fall short, and I am shamed. If B-12 is your location, then say "hit" and feel free to retort. The idea is, you say what you really mean, but you don't know who you will "hit"..as it might not be you intended rivial

Tired of other people's pointless drivel? Looking for a way to safely vent that hate out? Let people very far away feel the wrath of your fury... CC.com BATTLESHIP. "rules" 1. pick a letter/number combination between 1-26 and A-Z (example- R-21) 2.Post your personal beliefs about whatever topic you wish. 3. Read other's posts, then.. FIRE AT WILL!!! at anything that does not coinside with your personal dogma. (example: "do not bring your fucking dog to the cliff....E-13 bitch!") 4. Three squares per person, hits are reported by the honor system (after all, everyone's right...right?) Good luck, and may I be the first to fire a volley off the starbird side and say that.... PNW climbers need to wake up and smell the coffee...Gym climbing is the only way to get really strong. Your hate of climbing gyms is fear based and you are a wimp for not climbing 3 nights a week all winter to get whip strong for next spring.

For those who would like to search out some more information about this area, you may want to look up the Arc Dome Wilderness area and the north and south twin rivers.

That was my screen saver for 6 months! Have never climbed there, but very interested in an trip. The WG is simply a long ways from anywhere, but plainly visible from the highway, where that photo was taken. Not many have climbed there, sounds like it was a 70/80's thing. The only guy I know who has climbed there said the bugs were really bad. Usually he expounds on the merits of climbs, so my guess that this sandbagger is really bluffing. I would be very interested in climbing out there, my thought is a larger expedition might be smarter, as the nearest town is Tonapah, 70 miles away.
