  1. Funny, summer is popular gym time for Vegas...115 is just too hot to climb. 100 is ok, as long as it's in the shade....no, this is not a joke. You see...in august, the locals climb naked in Black Velvet all summer. Night climbing is also popular, with group night ascents of long routes.
  2. What about the tales going around about somebody onsight free soloing Young Warriors and getting lost high on the route?
  3. pizza, pot and pepsi you too can crank 5.10 at Index!
  4. I heard about a winter that never came.... Most of those other things are currently happening right now up the North fork of the Skykomish. As far as gold, funk and antiques, Monte Cristo was the place. A huge boom town in the day, nothing ever "panned out".... We did get Everett out of the deal, as the town was proped up to be the western railroad terminus for the ore shipped out from Monte Cristo.
  5. It's a cool tradition to use heriloom stones from your/ her family. I was given a diamond from my grandmother's wedding ring. We put it into a new setting that looked exactly like her old ring. My mom cried. It was cool
  6. You get three squares..or strikes...you are out Example: "read the instructions!!!...B-12!) Now, if you are not B-12,say" miss" my insult will fall short, and I am shamed. If B-12 is your location, then say "hit" and feel free to retort. The idea is, you say what you really mean, but you don't know who you will "hit"..as it might not be you intended rivial
  7. Tired of other people's pointless drivel? Looking for a way to safely vent that hate out? Let people very far away feel the wrath of your fury... CC.com BATTLESHIP. "rules" 1. pick a letter/number combination between 1-26 and A-Z (example- R-21) 2.Post your personal beliefs about whatever topic you wish. 3. Read other's posts, then.. FIRE AT WILL!!! at anything that does not coinside with your personal dogma. (example: "do not bring your fucking dog to the cliff....E-13 bitch!") 4. Three squares per person, hits are reported by the honor system (after all, everyone's right...right?) Good luck, and may I be the first to fire a volley off the starbird side and say that.... PNW climbers need to wake up and smell the coffee...Gym climbing is the only way to get really strong. Your hate of climbing gyms is fear based and you are a wimp for not climbing 3 nights a week all winter to get whip strong for next spring.
  8. You really start having fun when wired nuts become quickdraws...
  9. I just want to get out a couple times, anything's ok.
  10. Bring a fishing rod...
  11. For those who would like to search out some more information about this area, you may want to look up the Arc Dome Wilderness area and the north and south twin rivers.
  12. The Whistling Post, Skykomish
  13. Over sexed, under paid.
  14. That was my screen saver for 6 months! Have never climbed there, but very interested in an trip. The WG is simply a long ways from anywhere, but plainly visible from the highway, where that photo was taken. Not many have climbed there, sounds like it was a 70/80's thing. The only guy I know who has climbed there said the bugs were really bad. Usually he expounds on the merits of climbs, so my guess that this sandbagger is really bluffing. I would be very interested in climbing out there, my thought is a larger expedition might be smarter, as the nearest town is Tonapah, 70 miles away.

  16. She is very nice in person, we had dinner last year.
  17. The Wingman... (they can't all be pretty...)
  18. I sold my pre-ban Mini 14 to buy an engagement ring. Owning a beautiful semi-automatic assault rifle is much like being married to a beautiful woman... keep it clean and well maintained, always treat it with respect, act like it's loaded at all times... and hope to die with it in your arms.
  19. I thought there was something strange about that picture...
  20. TR: Vegas Hose Monster We hiked around to the top of the VHM yesterday, the 3rd pitch was the only thing really in right now. The climbing was good, but not great...give it a little time to thicken up. Much care was used, as the exit moves were 20 feet of crappy hollow ice.
  21. Is Kelly Turner your instructor? If so, get ready for 10 days of hemotomias, homework and homeopathics!
  22. I snowboarded on Villarica in '94...pretty sick stuff. The crater gives off a rosy glow in the right set of cloud conditions. We skied above the resort, filming a ski and snowboard movie. The resort gave us free tickets and a guide. A "groupie" refused to listen to local beta and ingored warnings, then promptly fell off a 30 foot cliff to flat ice. ( first aid tip: a snowboard makes for a exellent back board, just remove the bindings.) The movie, shot in 16mm film, was never released.
  23. The latest cold front should bring the goods.... NOAA weather forcast for the Spring Mtns. The traveling multiclimber might want to bring the tools, crampons, lucky charm and no expectations.
  24. The first pitch aids well for the unethical types. My partner is still grumpy about my batmaning the bolts...
