  1. "Dad, can I borrow the jet?" "After you voilated the no-fly zone?...not a chance."
  2. Yo dog, do you betta sit your self down! Recognize our man with the granite plan... The doctor of climbitology... DR DRU!
  3. I can barely spell prussik, so I dont say klemheist. The situation Dr. Dru suggested was passing a knot that connects two single ropes, or passing a intermedate anchor.
  4. Let's keep this about your problems. Now pass the salt.
  5. I say, if it protects with natural gear, chop it!
  6. That is fine, but everyone knows that Chevys suck.
  7. Good point Dru, I guess you can tie another prussik above the knot, slowly weight the system, then tie a Alpine butterfly below the knot as a backup, clip into that with your regular back up, finally with two backups, switch the device, installing it above the butterfly so you can untie it. At work we use our jumars in place of the prussiks to pass knots. It's hard to have much redundancy with only one rope.
  8. As a stoner and the original poster, I'll field this one... The Prussik grabs the brake end of the rope, locking the ATC, stopping you. Just like your brake hand, right? The length of the prussik is critical, as you do not want it to get sucked into the device.
  9. Las Vegas water district will pay you not to have a grass lawn or high water plants. You must spend the money on xeriscaping. This program has reduced the amount of water each household uses by half. I think that we now use 156,000 gallons per household. Now if California, Utah, Wyoming, Colorado and Arizona can only get their game together.
  10. You think it's a mitten, A closer look you should take. A little small for the hand, A little small for the foot. What you picked up is not a mitten, But it's shaped like one though... Something else it's been fitting, Hand soap might be smart now.... bro.
  11. Go ahead and smoke it aready!
  12. Is that before or after the bridge over the Pit of Despair?
  13. Things are getting real serious in the Colorado river. What is about to happen will dwarf 9/11. Lake Powell is well over half gone. If the lake drops 80 more feet, the water will not reach the intakes. People do not drink lake Powell, it's mostly hydropower. A huge source of energy will be gone... where will they get their power from? hmmm...... You. We swim in Lake Mead all summer, the water drops at least a foot...every week. Exciting times were living in.
  14. Don't yell at me. .
  15. By base camping in BV, you have many climbs to choose from with a significantly shorter approach. Many climbs are walk offs, don't forget your shoes.
  16. Call Jed the BLM climbing ranger to get your free late exit/ overnight permit. 702-515-5138 Much cheaper than the $50.00 ticket.
  17. Com'on down this fall once the weather turns. Mrs G. is rolling her eyes aready.... Girls, you can still have your weekly estrofest. All are welcome, you guys just figure it out!

  23. This might be the funniest thread of the year.
  24. Something about this story reminds me of the way the northwest used to be... a 70' story. More of a logger's northwest. Back then, they would have kept him and fed him beer every day. I think back to when Everett's Forest park had 2 bears in a cage, they lived there for years.
  25. The Cosmic wall has some great views... Castle Crags is so close to I-5 that you can camp 5 minutes off the road and go climbing a hour from your tent.
