Yeah, I figured as much. Certaintly not the kind of person I'd want to run into in a dark deserted alley. Oh well, we can't all be happy and well-adjusted. Best of luck to you with your problems.

I know you can't stand me, certainly you've been unambivalent about that if nothing else. You're meaner than hell, but you probably already know that.

Then so it shall be. The Sloop shall be our drinking location for Pub Club this week. Come one, come all!!!
-
They may have bottles, but last I checked, the Sloop had no cider on tap, and the Lockspot just plain sucked, cider or no. Have fun gang!
-
I'm allergic to hops, so if we do it at a place with no cider, I probably won't be able to make it. That's why I suggested the places I suggested.

I was thinking of either the Old Peculiar or George and Dragon, but they both have trivia on Tuesdays. Kinda boring, but Lock and Keel?

Hey, let's do some Pub Clubbing this week! I can drive, but really only short distances, so let's have one in Ballard. If it's anywhere else, maybe one of our resident Ballardites could give me a ride. Driving is still a real hassle for me, my driving foot's all swaddled up in bandages and I'm still doing a little bit of painkillers.

Feminism, what a quaint term that is. I didn't even know people used it any more.

surgery on two limbs in a short period of time
marylou replied to marylou's topic in Fitness and Nutrition Forum
Already not needing the crutches to walk. I can bear weight "as tolerated" and can walk in a kinda funny crabwalk type of way. Most of the time I am sitting or lying down with the ankle elevated to keep the swelling under control, but I have this weird thing going. My legs are super duper ultra sore from walking funny. Ditto on my lower back. I'd love to soak in a hot bath, but can't get the ankle wet, and besides, warm would not do it any good. Not sure what to do except maybe get a massage. I'm sure I'm throwing everything out of alignment big time. Cash is tight though, and insurance will not cover massage. Any ideas? Any massage students needing a warm and slightly broken body? Yow! -
Separated Shoulder - Any good PTs near W Seattle?
marylou replied to BreezyD's topic in Fitness and Nutrition Forum
I think Layton is a choro and not a PT. Nothong against chiros, but if it were me I'd recover under the care of an orthopod with treatment by a PT. Thing about PT is you have to do their stupid exercises as they prescribe or it won;t work. Generally PT DOES work if you do their dumb exercises, which really aren't that dumb! -
As Kweb said, cortisone is like getting a super strong anti-inflammatory. It's not uncommon to get six months of relief out of a shot, and that can help in getting another type of fix/therapy in there while the inflammation is down, or before getting something that's a possible permanent fix like surgery. About three years ago I got a cortisone shot into one of the ankle joints to carry me over to surgery. I worked fantastically well for about six months until it wore off and then it hurt like hell. A couple of caveats about getting cortisone: for us young folks (under 60) docs generally only want to give one or maybe two shots because cortisone can cause joint degradation (arthritis in my case) and that's worse than the cure. If it's a muscle thing, it can be a permanent fix because the inflamed muscle gets rid of inflammation and can heal. Operative word being CAN, doesn't always work. I didn't get my surgery until three days ago, so my plan fell apart. From my very limited experience with cortisone shots (just a few over my life) it can be EXTREMELY painful to get the shot. The last one was into the joint between the talus and the heel bone and it was the most painful thing in my life. Ever. All good to know before making the choice to get a cortisone shot--and I'd never get one without knowing exactly what the problem was that the shot was supposedly treating.

Bacon is the staff of life. There is no need to make excuses for baconlove.

Pasta: Di Cecco Papparadelle Sauce: Hm, probably a tossup between Bolognese and Pesto (our family recipe)
-
One shot is generally ok, but it's not something a person should make a habit of doing.

You mean you made the shed, or the firewood? Sorry, the painkillers must be working.

surgery on two limbs in a short period of time

Made it through #2 today. Dr. removed a couple of pretty good sized bone spurs that I think I'll be much happier without. Time to settle in with the Percocet Pony for a few days.... -
Strangely, many of us with many differnt builds here seem to agree on Patagucci. Stuff fits great. On a slightly related note, Mountain Hardwear cuts the waistbands on their women's pants brilliantly, relatively low-rise, no bunching, just a really good fit. Sorry, wish I could help more but I'm a L or XL.

I bet not enough schneg up there just yet. There was basically zero two weekends ago.

I have to be at the hospital at 6am tomorrow for surgery. No movies for me. I released the comps so at least there are two more tickets for sale now.
-
Awful sweet of you to offer, Carl.
-
No, I will not have a ticket to sell, I may have one to give.

Nice pics, Tvash. I'm terribly disappointed that it wasn't cold enough for either of you to wear my ultra-gay lavender puffy coat though. -
If I appear to be alone tomorrow, I'll have an extra ticket for someone. That may or may not happen, but hit me up if you see me there tomorrow.
