There is some ice in near Emerald Bay (I think) on the west side of the Lake. not super reliable, but i've seen in that time of year. Check out the Climbing Lake Tahoe rock book for some beta.

so i did... here's what the Good Doctor had to say about the festivities We got some beta about this new 5.7 just right of Surf's Up near Trundle Dome. An excellent route! I led it twice back to back it was that good. here's my brother dave on it.

yep. It's "Cutting Teeth" a 5.9 on Domestic Dome. It was very recently retroed--there was still rock dust below the new bolts. I still think the last 2 bolts aren't in quite the right place, but I didn't put them there, so what can I say about it? edit to add: please go back and remove the manky bolts that you left on the route. Also, although the old 3/8 bolt still seems ok, it might as well be pulled and replaced so that the entire route has new fixed gear on it.

it depends if you want to set up a tent or are just car bivying. If you're doing the car bivy, check out the gravel parking lot on the corner of Merman Dr and Valley Rd, near the athletic playfields. Alternately, you can drive down Park St for about a mile to a pullout by the Humane Society shelter. less traffic there for sure. If tenting it, that's a bit harder...I'd probably drive east of town on Hwy 27 towards Palouse and hit one of the dirt roads. expect to get up early if a farmer finds you sleeping in his wheat fields. As for bathing and stuff, you can get a day pass to the Student Rec Center for $8 (or go with a student who "sponsors" you and pay $5). Get a beer at the Sports Page, downtown.
