  1. well, I did the lower cave first but only to try and push that upper passage a little more than I did last time. I figure I can't make it through the opening into the little room at the end (me and my fat ass.) The upper cave is certainly better, but I saw so much TP this time! It was absolutely disgusting! The person I was with hurt her wrist at some point, so the side passage exploration was significantly less than I would have otherwise liked (but there was so much shit in there I don't think I would have wanted to go anyway!) Has anyone ever checked out the cross tube in the lower part near the bottom end? (It comes in from the left as you're heading down the tube, and it's about 8-10 feet up)

    Ape Cave...

is a shithole right now. PEOPLE WHO CRAP IN CAVES AND LEAVE IT THERE PISS THE HELL OUT OF ME!! All the good side passages that I went into in Ape Cave this time at least had TP, some even had coils. There was even some less than 100 feet from the upper entrance! Friggin' morons!
  3. I "climbed" Mt. Wow in Mt. Rainier National Park this past Saturday, but it's really just a bushwhack. Lots of scrapes and a few stings, but we spent 2 hours on the summit staring at the Tahoma Glacier, then an hour down at Lake Allen swimming and drinking beers. On Sunday the was crappy weather so I went caving.
  4. Did you use ropes? That would have slowed us up (and prolly been a lot safer, especially on what we climbed on the summit pinnacle.) We were moving quickly down the trail, a moderate jog at times, but not really running. (The descent was interesting enough after the beers at Sahale Camp without trying to run.) And did the snaffle lick your gaiters and try to eat your ankles? (I'll post pics once I get around to resizing them)
  5. agreed. This would be funny if it wasn't true. Holding people accountable for something inconceivable is rather laughable.
  6. This is rediculous!
  7. bring in... THE COMFY CHAIR!!!
  8. how can you talk about climbing without talking about beer?! Of course this belongs in this forum (Climber's Board)!
  9. the same thing can be said about "lum" and "mox"
  10. perhaps it meant he is on Mt. Wow... (yes it is an actual place... a satellite peak of Rainier in the SW corner of the park.)
  11. It's a picture of the closed handicapped latrine at Muir with the sign on it that says "This is an example of your climbing fees at work"
  12. I'm in... who am I to turn down climbing and beer?
  13. although I agree with everything you've said, for some reason this smells of troll....
  14. dang it! I was planning on heading up there this weekend!
  15. nope, no scrambling class either
  16. I'd be in on that! First up, the musicians would put caps in the asses of all the big record company executives!
  17. I have not been to this place. Are you saying that if the Mountaineers didn't exist, then there would still be green grass, birds flying, and little snaffles running all over the place? Are you saying that the mountains should be closed to everyone but you?
  18. since when do you have to take any course to learn anything? (all those self-taught people must be laughing their asses off at us because we went to college...)
  19. waiting 24 hours?
  20. I wonder how many stunt doubles they had to go through to get that take!
