  1. although I agree with everything you've said, for some reason this smells of troll....
  2. dang it! I was planning on heading up there this weekend!
  3. nope, no scrambling class either
  4. I'd be in on that! First up, the musicians would put caps in the asses of all the big record company executives!
  5. I have not been to this place. Are you saying that if the Mountaineers didn't exist, then there would still be green grass, birds flying, and little snaffles running all over the place? Are you saying that the mountains should be closed to everyone but you?
  6. since when do you have to take any course to learn anything? (all those self-taught people must be laughing their asses off at us because we went to college...)
  7. waiting 24 hours?
  8. I wonder how many stunt doubles they had to go through to get that take!
  9. broadband is great if you want to download large files, set up a server (web or ftp) on your computer, and spray 24-7 on cc.com.
  10. sometimes I wear gaiters when I don't need them because the stupid clip is so much of a hassle to get on and off my laces I just leave them on my boots. They've since changed the clip design, but these still work fine (minus the clip issue), so I haven't gotten new ones.
  11. so are there other high-speed options for those with a strong dislike of Comcast but without a landline? I've yet to find one...
  12. I skipped my 5th last year, but I'll likely go to my 10th.

    wicked

I wondered where all our tax dollars were going. Streak away timm@y!
  14. Alpinfox, thanx for the useful reply. I agree that the pictures may look a little rediculous, but you gotta start somewhere, and in some cases you don't know what's outside of the picture. Some people want to climb, but don't know anyone else who does, and these groups provide a way so they can learn. They guy in first picture is walking down a slab. If I'd never done it before, I'd certainly want to try it on that rock rather than on something steeper 1000 feet above the deck (even though it could be done.) For all the people who are joking about this, are these people in the picture preventing you from climbing? Are they pouring sugar in your gas tank and pissing on you from great heights?
  15. exactly, and I get pissed off when people make it sound like if you're not comfortable with it, they're obviously much better than you... me, I'm comfortable with it, prolly more so than I should be, but I do *NOT* hold it against people if they're not as comfortable as I am...
  16. so now anyone who has ever started climbing is required to be comfortable with rappelling within two days after they first climbed??? I rarely say this to anyone, but I think you need to learn about how dangerous rappelling can be the hard way...
  17. I've said it before and I'll say it again, you people are pathetic. Why don't you go post in the new I'M MUCH BETTER THAN YOU, AND I WAS NEVER A NEWBIE MYSELF FORUM
  18. I was going to suggest the I'M BETTER THAN YOU FORUM or the I WAS NEVER A NEWBIE FORUM , but you seem to have covered it pretty well chucK...
  19. I think you're both saying the same thing. F8 just said that the person should keep walking, not that you should leave them alone. DP didn't say that you should stop them, only that you should assist rather than climb.
  20. I don't know where it started out, but I don't think it was in spray. Look at AlpineK's post at the top of the 2nd page...
