i spent the week in CO and the last weekend at Corporate HQ in park city. It was my first trip to both areas and damn, quite different that little ol bachy. had a great time playing in the trees on saturday at PC, ~6 inches of new over ice, but it was still a good time. nice to be home though

Best Source for Road Conditions to Mt. Adams?
gapertimmy replied to RHRoop's topic in Climber's Board
Welcome to our world of spray! With the low snow pack this year you should be okay to drive up to cold springs by then (south ridge trailhead), you best bet for road conditions/beta is right here, check the southern washington forum for more up to date info as your visit approaches. -
so are burlap sacks and bananas around one's neck

i think shredmaximus was just up there this past weekend skiing on middle, you might give him a PM. fwiw it has been VERY warm down here the past few days, in the 50's at bachelor. but we are expecting a tad over 12'' this week, snow levels possibly dipping down into bend even.

i got me a pair that usually comes with a sony workout type walkman. they are very light, plastic "normal" headband and stick into the ear. i use this running and slogging and when i'm eating beefcake and pumping mad iron. i don't like the ear buds as they always fall out of my greasy ear canals.

my most odd encounter on mt si was a very early morning hike a few years back in January, I started out early to catch the sunrise and to get some solitude and to work on my project on my new line "the cougars ass" on the haystack.... anyhow about half way up i encountered a group of about 15 college aged black gentelman, walking in complete silence. All but two of them were wearing burlap sacks as a top and had a half dozen rotten bannanas strung around there necks via a string. in their backpacks was the eleventh essential.... not hc, but a frat paddle. I chuckled and said "GOOD MORNING PLEDGES" they didn't seem to find that humorous and continued their death march.

excellent day at work yesterday, and today is shaping up to be nice as well. the sun warmed up the south/west sides of bachy just right, made for some tasty conditions up high. definately got heavy and wet down low in the trees, but the smell of spring is in the air, what a great fucking day. nothing beats that long 3500' drop from the top to NW on a clear day, the sisters, chossington, and jefferson all out in full splendor, amazing.

gapertimmy replied to Braumeister's topic in Climber's Board
if interested, you could buy a copy of "Tim and Jon's Building a Spary Site for Dummies Book", included is a chapter on how to start up and promote pub club. -

it was a warm day up high on bachelor. very nice in the am, little wind, but the storm started to roll in yesterday pm, and it is currently snowing here at the base. forecast for today calls for around 12'' tomorrow 9'' and the storm starts to peter out after that. temps at 9k expected to be in the low 20's and winds "moderate" to 65mph
