I'd like to do the pole pedal paddle this year, but was wondering if anyone would want to join up on a team. I'm not really gifted with xc skiing or biking for that matter, but would be happy to do any of the other legs of the race. If you are interested, and think you can hang with team snafflehound lemme know its on may 17th more info at: www.mbsef.org

maybe i'll write a script that pulls all the events off their calendar and posts them to an article here, can't we all just get along?

i think the discussion this site allows is what sets it appart from other static tr sources out there (bivouac et all). the option is there to set aside an interesting FA or whatever onto the "other" part of the site, please see my reply in cc.news

I'm trying to accomplish something much like this by publishing certain trip report info to the content management system on the site: http://www.cascadeclimbers.com/index.php?option=articles&Itemid=3 This content is indexed and searchable using the full site search. I think i've done a poor job of advertising this feature, but I attempt to publish trip reports to this section. The TR's are linked back to the original post so the discussion er spray or whatever you want to call it can live on, but the original post is set aside for easy viewing. If you think a TR is worhty of being set aside, all you do is click the little folder icon at the bottom of the post This then puts the TR into a queue where it gets approved or not to be "archived". We can add more categories to this section of the site FA, FWA, etc I'm all for making this happen it just doesnt' seem that this has been a popular feature so i haven't pursued it much

if anyone wants to chip in to buy another cam i'll put it wherever they want. The real tasty ones i've started to buy cost about 1500, but allow remote pan/tilt/zoom and from my office you can zoom into the summit of south and watch people wank away

It seems that winters last efforts are starting to peter out in this neck of the woods and ODOT started to plow out the small section of the cascade lakes highway near Dutchman Flat yesterday. The long term forecast calls for temps to start warming considerably this weekend and for the rest of the month. The general feeling of the old timers around the resort is that this years snowpack, albeit close to average, will melt quickly this year. So, set aside some time late april, early may for traditional south sister slogs, and lets hope the road is good to go in a week or so. fwiw, Once the resort closes up, i'll move the cams, one will point right at south, and the other will show 3 sisters proper from the Pine Marten lodge.

i actually go in from the north, always forget the name of the road, but its a bit easier to access that way, these picts are of a formation just west of badlands rock

yep, stupid topic, but i tried to teach my wife how to belay, and during so i made her cry. guess i was a bit too serious about how important belaying is, she just couldn't handle it. remember that guy that setup bogus anchors at smiffy rox and killed his wife a few years back. homeboy rigged up the anchors so she would deck when she fell, forgot which route, he left here there after the fall, went back to sunriver, had some beers and then called 911 a guy in dc sar was driving him back to smith when the first party on the scened discoverd she was still alive, the dude said the murder husband turned ghost white at the point and was quiet the rest of the drive. i believe this was on unsolved mysteries or some show like that. SO's beware!

today was P-FUCKING-LAB, do a search for plab and your questions will be answered WORD = WERD but only whiteys say WORD

the correct answer was submitted via email. said rock formation is in the badlands wilderness just east of bend, north of hwy 20. the area is sensitive nesting habitat for birds, and picto/petroglyphs are abundant so bouldering is not permited. for those whole like to wander and are into geologic formations, this place is amazing. stay tuned for the next installation of where in the 541?

Greetings Sprayers- I know there are a few folks out there who are web development types. I'm looking for a company or a small shop that is heavily into devloping open source apps for the web to possibly look at remaking a website. This is not cc.com related, this would be a (well)paid gig. If you are, or know of a company/person that has the skills to build a secure, fast, stylin suite of applications, please drop me a line. thanks Tim

eugene was an interesting spot on saturday for sure. it did seem alot like east side weather. i love thunderstorms, but have a great respect for them, i grew up in dallas, tx for 10 years so i got to see a bunch of fatties down there. waiting for 2 hours on the U of O campus for wife to get finished provided me with some wonderful people watching though.

indeed a well thought out troll takes months of lurking, and sometimes just as much time to plan and execute. i think there is a thread about the greatest trolls of all cc.com history, but hands down the best one was the Renton Granite troll, and of course Amber was classic for its time. barging in and spraying spew really takes no skill, and is soooooooo y2k

ski season is far from over homey re: smiff i ended up having to drive my wife to eugene to that shit hole known as U of O so she could take some test, burned my saturday doing that. the weather has been very unsettled in central oregon, like jk said, hail, rain, thunder, snow, you name it. the upcoming week calls for a bit of the same, not as bad as this weekend though, but after this week, its looking like summer will come very quickly. timmay
