I've had the wonderful pleasure of making some morning laps up on bachelor the past few days. No matter how many times I do this, i still think it is freakin plab that one can drive up to the mountain, skin up for almost 3000' and rip some freakin tasty corn. get sum now while its here, its melting fast down low but the bowl this morning was fantastic. the snow has been corning up nicely on more eastern aspects around 8:30ish - 9ish. ok, i think my cheast is getting a bit sore, here are some picts from this morning... the tr: left the office early, got up, corn, carve, corn, carve, sneak back in through the back door before the boss arrives. yeah baby. me honestly thinks there are some issues with quest right now, they cut off most of central oregon this morning, and i'm only now able to view images in the gallery.... so give it some time and it will fix itself.

it is cooling off this week, if you get an early start you shouldn't need snowshoes, and the ridge right above the lewis glacier is almost snow free all the way to the top. cletus and i did an interesting variation to the s side slog, hiked up green lakes trail and stayed on the west side of fall creek and traveled up between the 2 flows on the SE side of the mountain, this gulley hooks up with the normal south route right near the moraine of lewis glacier. you won't see a soul over there, and the trail might be snow free up to the gulley by then... and you don't loose as much elevation since green lks th is a bit higher...

fwiw, the difference in the snow pack in a weeks time was amazing this past week. from south sister, it appeared that the meadows from mirror lakes north were still fairly snowed in, but again this is melting fast. this week is bringing some cooler weather (mid 70's in bend) so melting won't happen quite as fast as it did last week. i think your best bet will be to accesss from the east side, at least it will be a bit faster.

anybody else having whack internet performance today, like images loading very slowly? i know a virus is just rapin some networks right now, but not sure if its just me or not.
