I think it has 2 seasons, the wonderful few months in the summer when one can meat gaze... but really after a week or so of hot weather, the smog sets in and you can barely see dem dar hills through the haze. then the grey comes, that is the second seattle season, grey dribbles. the moss begins to grown on y'alls backs once again... repeat.

definately snow on the trail still. the green lakes parking lot will be snowed in as well so parking might be tricky.

you could probably get away without snowshoes if you leave early enough. the ridgeline to the top is exposed most of the way. but i guess shoes may be nice for slogging across the plateau on the descent, like i said though, get an early start and you shoudl be fine w/out

i like the challenge of it, but i think the fact of being able to go lighter is what attracts me. either way, i'd love to do olympus this year, or perhpas some traverses of the whole range.
