  1. So it turns out it some of the recent issues are a result of me changing a few things in the cc.com super secret data center facility in The Dalles, OR. I have erectified my mistakes and things seem to be back to normal. VIVA LA SPRAY!
  2. I have love for the snowboard bruthahood, as such: Voile Mountain Gun Splitboard $710 homeboy jlag loves his.
  3. What are the regulations for tauntauns on Jeff? Also, can the PDX news roflhelicopters fly down there for live coverage of your climb?
  4. ....or skip work on a thursday and go to wilammette pass and ski in 3' of fresh.
  5. Bachy touring policy is here: http://www.mtbachelor.com/winter/services/health_and_safety/boundary_policy/index.html Essentially, don't get in the way of the cats that may be grooming on summit before opening. They have had some issues of clueless skinners skinning up below cats that are in operation, or below cats that are cutting the switchbacks to the top. As for South Sister: The FL of 8000' kind of sucks as most of the 'normal' spots we go to around here are below or very near that. There is a shitload of snow that will be warming up.
  6. i actually think tauntaun direct will be formed up nice in March

  9. I don't post my climbs here because I don't want people to steal my projekts.
  10. Nothing is more depressing than sitting behind a computer, in an office, that is 2+ hours away from skiable snow. As such, when I'm unable to ski, I pass the time by drooling over gear. So here is a fresh batch of sickay ski deals, that will bring YOUR gaper steez to a whole new level (kind of like how bachy takes sickness... well you know) Have to mention it again, because I really need a new pair: all gone The googles that Extremo Mt Dude Himself wears! Smith Prodigy Googles $57 Build your booters bizatch! all gone
  11. SICK!!!!!!! I just hitched up my sled. Face shotz to da dome tomorrow brah!
  12. After re-reading your first post, seeing that you got the shuksans you are obviously looking for a weight-concious setup. I think the choice with that in mind is obvious. Price-wise they are exactly the same right now: pure freeride
  13. I had the Garmin Gecko which was a great, small, light GPS unit (so small and so light that I either lost it or it got stolen) that doesn't have many bells and whistles. http://www.backcountry.com/store/GRM0025/Garmin-Geko-201.html?PID=2196890 It has a screen, and does excellent navigation... but you could use it to simply log your tracks and download it to your PC. I think this model still uses a Serial interface so keep that in mind. Garmin units that have USB interfaces tend to be a bit more spendy which is just ridiculous as most laptops don't come with serial ports anymore. I attached the gecko to a ski strap and put in on my wrist for navigating, but it works well inside a pack too just for making a track. Reception was just as good as other eTrex series I had owned, but like most GPS would have issues in deep canyons or in dense forests. For what its worth, I think if you are going to carry the weight, you might as well have a unit that you can put some waypoints into... you never know it might come in handy someday. mfgr page with all the stats on weight, battery life, data storage etc: http://www.garmin.com/products/geko201/spec.html
  14. I don't have silveretta's but friends who own both have always commented that the one nice factor is that you are closer to the ski then on freerides. Make's sense.
  15. nickelback is a fine example that all great American Pop music comes from Canada.
  16. I don't think you'll find new fatter skis for that cheap (100) as most good boards tend to sell out in the popular sizes. A good bet might be to try to pick up some demo skis when resorts/shops try to close them out (if you don't mind having some drill holes in the skis). these sugar daddies are nice skis that a friend of mine uses as his AT setup, but it looks like they only have the 193/163 left... which 193 might be nice if you are going to use it in the resort alot, but would add some extra weight for touring setup.
  17. Perusing some of the mid-winter sales today, thought I would share: Fritschi Freerides $340 BD Skins $86 - $104 depending on width Get geared up for corn!
  18. Not sure about up in Washington, but I bought my sled used off Mt. Bachelor after it had been used for 2 seasons. I was lucky to know the history of my particular sled as the resorts do thrash them, but it has been a great rig. I picked it up for $1000. So if you are shopping, it might be worth making a few phone calls to pickup a cheaper sled that isn't so vintage.
  19. I have to go down to the used gear store here in Bend and I will spend the remaining $ I have after paying all of the cc.com support staff and programming team.
