yeah--boulder boy can crank pretty friggin hard when attached to the end of rope too. luke's a cool kid. just b/c he's got an unnatural affection for pebbles doesn't mean he should get slammed. but then again sometimes it's funny

the thing i think is funny about this is that distel can crank pretty damn hard w/a rope attached to him. have fun bouldering in the desert

yesterday evening, my partner in crime and i decided to go for a quick jaunt over to vantage. i've been sick this week and feeling worse by the day but i figured that a little sun might help the cause and belaying and maybe heading up a few easy pitches might not be deadly. in the last couple weeks i've found my confidence wavering and my ability to push myself lagging. after having my ass handed to me at smith, i was definitely on a low ebb. my partner has been climbing well but injured. he too had his ass handed to him at smith. an easy day seemed in order to prop up sagging egos well after one easy pitch, my partner heads up a moderate but eye opening lead. he sends it in nice form but it seems like that might the toughest thing we do for the day. as i'm fiddling around w/the rope, i spy him looking at the book and then looking at a particular pitch and not saying much. w/o much discussion of the matter he announces that he's going for it. it's by far the toughest thing he's ever tried to lead. i throw out some encouraging words and he starts up. it's got some tough moves right off the ground but the obvious crux is a ways up. he gets to the crux, has a look makes a couple small attempts, clips a bail biner to the bolt. ithink he's coming down. nope, suddenly he throws himself at it. in no time at all and w/only one heart stopping moment he's at the top. after watching him send this pitch suddenly i am feeling more motivated to go out push myself again. it was great to watch him overcome some recent blows to his confidence and just go forit. it was a great reminder that your partner's successes can really add something to your climbing. and to dave -- fuck yeah! nicely done!!!

bunglehead, just for your "future" reference, most of those side effects occur in less than 1% of patients. the FDA requires that every noted possible side effect be included in labeling. don't be afraid of the vanity drugs. come on...you know you wanna be some hottie when you're 80 doesn't need cialis

i agree with this. i just don't see what the big deal about moving the forum down the list a little is.

cbs- after the initial clinical trials showed little efficacy in women we conceded the market the market to the 3 established competitors. godiva chocolates, ftd, and ben bridge jewelers. i understand that these items have a few possible side effects but have been demonstrated to be greater than 80% effective in improving female sexual dysfunction.

yes cbs i am definitely too sensitive to be a spray moderator and just for pointing that out i think i'm going to have to band you. i'm sick today and tad off my game. sorry if i misunderstood your post. just figured i'd wipe the floor w/the whiners right off the bat.

cbs- not to be too harsh-but you don't know what you're talking about. there's only 2 IP addresses that have been banned and none of those recently as near as i can tell. there's been much debate on the moderators forum about if spray needs cleaning up but even the most PC amongst the mods seem to be willing to let most anything slide on spray. moving it down to the bottom of the list is an effort to accomodate the fact that this is a climbing site and many people don't want to deal with the garbage in spray while allowing spray to be it's irreverant/no PC self. mellow out people

doe any of you canucks know if MEC gives a discount on gear if multiple pieces are purchased? my favorite local shops will give me 10-20% off of 4 or more cams. h/e the exchange rate and sale prices might make it worth a big spending spree at MEC and w/e at squamish.

thinker! good attitude. i'd climb with you i think most people are pretty good about differentiating between what they can lead and what they can second. i for one have gained a lot from climbing things on TR that i couldn't conceive of leading yet. it has provided me the opportunity to gain some strength, practice some technique, and have a lot of fun w/my partners laughing at my flailing. that said, the quote about having the most fun is a pretty sticky sweet and not really accurate in my mind. there's some bad ass climbers out there on some seriously hard routes. i'm not even participating in the same activity as some of those folks. they deserve a level of respect for their skills that the average weekend climber doesn't.

wtf are you talking about? when did cc.com get BIG corporate sponsors. spray was moved to encourage more posters/new posters to the climbing sections of the board. spray is a lot of fun. however when it is positioned near the top of the board newcomers to the site stumble onto it quickly. many are turned off by the nature of spray and don't stick around to contribute to the rest of the site. i personally have talked to 2 people for whom this is true. i know other moderators have had the same type of experience. many of the moderators have spoken to people who don't post here b/c of spray. no one wants to lose spray or make it to PC. it was my suggestion originally that it be moved out of the limelight. what's the big deal? it's still here. it's still the same good ol cesspool.

just picked up a pair of these this weekend. i was little hesitant to buy a slipper b/c i generally just don't need the sensitivity (i'm not that good) and thus don't get value out of the discomfort. so far i like these shoes. they still need to stretch a smidge before i'll love them. this is my first experience w/a synthetic shoe. does anyone have any thoughts on these or other synthetic shoes?

schnitzem i just want to let you know that i had posted something to the effect that i didn't that was my gear, nor did i want to think that someone from here would be the culprit. that post inadvertantly got canned w/a couple of others.

all i know is that rei has done it again. i placed an order last monday, for new shoes. i figured with the recent theft of my shoes, this would be a good use for my dividend. the estimated arrival was weds....plenty of time for the weekend. they still have not arrived. i bought other shoes at redpoint this w/e so i could climb. i called to cancel the order. apparently there was some problem or another (depends on which rep i talked to as to the nature of the problem) there was no e-mail alerting me to this, no phone call, no note in the mail. nothing. it was up to me to guess and call.
