please don't turn this into a big time relationship thread just taking a survey after making some observations this weekend. climbing with my spouse/date/ SO is: a) the best. we climb great together and i never climb better b) stressful. i don't climb my best but we have a good time. c) a total disaster. no way is that ever going to happen again.

i feel like i'm piling on right now... muffy, i totally disagree with this. you can fall anytime even on stuff you can solo. i want my gear to hold even on the easy stuff. not so long ago i was leading a 5.7 that i've climbed several times. i had one good nut in and was moving past it. i was being pretty casual b/c i have climbed that pitch before. i was placing the second piece and i was a little sloppy and had to untangle a sling. my foot slipped fromt he stance i was in and i fell on that first nut. i was really glad it held b/c i would've decked if it hadn't. i almost didn't put that first piece b/c i knew that pitch and had climbed it before.

i think if snugtop promised to show you'd get good turn out for the next one wish i could go more often but i'm just geographically undesirable. hey b! i'm going to the gym tonight if you want to meet us there.

yup. if the original owner of the gear is in the vicinity of the gear it should be returned. my partner dropped a couple lockers the same day i placed the afore mentioned cam badly. the nice people at the bottom of the route promptly returned them when asked. i'm w/ bp. it all evens out in the end. sometimes you can clean the stuck piece. sometimes it's not worth half an hour. it all seems to come out even over the long run. no point sweatin too much if your partner can't clean it.

i placed a crappy cam last week. my partner almost couldn't clean it. totally my fault. i wouldn't have been upset if he hadn't been able to clean it.

heh! yeah well it might be easier to sell the kid than find good afterschool care. shootin for every week. just lost my regular sitter actually hoping to find a couple of people to split the time. it'll all sort out. probably some hours on the w/e if someone wanted to make some extra $$$
