  1. pindude, i feel your pain in the worst possible way. one problem i had was that theives were able to get my ssn from my health ins. card. if your card had your # on it be extra vigilent w/your credit report. wish i could help w/the gear. can't believe someone did that. if it's enough $$$$ you might consider a claim on homeowner's or renter's ins. to help you replace the gear.
  2. how long are you going to be there? probably won't be out there until 2-3
  3. so anybody going to head to Si/e38 this afternoon?
  4. hey come on now, that's just not nice. i don't want to break my belay slave. sheesh!
  5. R&D sounds like a good choice to me. i probably should've mentioned that he's led plenty of sport routes and climbs much harder than the 5.6/5.7 stuff i'm looking to start him on.
  6. thanks but the books are filled with so much stuff i'm not sure what to start him with. i was wondering if people had specific experience. he's a strong climber so i'm not too worried about him just want to set up a positive situation.
  7. i retract my earlier statement. scooby and any of the characters from the bloom county comic strip.
  8. my partner is just getting into leading with gear. any recommendations for good routes at l'worth for a new leader?
  9. scooby. there really is no other choice
  10. hmmmmmmmmmaybe. what time?
  11. nice TR is that tumwater buttress route one that i could do w/a my currently small rack? (i've sent away for some of the pills the nice spammers advertise to increase my rack but they haven't arrived yet) i'm assuming that 5.5 w/anchors doesn't take a lot of gear? is it clean enough that my partner who is a strong climber but new to leading trad would be comfortable taking a pitch?
  12. well it's called a belay loop so obviously you clip your belay biner through your gear loop, preferably one on the left side.

just so y'all know. the women of cc.com have already discussed how hot you guys are. the conclusion is that some of you may be fine pieces of ass but most of you are dirt bag climbers who can't afford to support our climbing habits. what we're really discussing is where to find hotties who can afford all the gear we want and be our personally trained belay slaves. we could call it the sorority.

    Rope storage

mine usually sit somewhere in the middle of the dinning room if i've bothered to get them out of the pack from the last time they were used.
  15. i don't care what you call it. i think mr. minx and myself are free that w/e. there's a high likelihood that we could be found at smiffy
  16. yeah-- that motivates me to set a goal of climbing 5.13. i've wanted to buy snugtop dinner for a while
  17. a good yoga class will improve your balance and flexibility and year's worth of yoga would probably cost the same as some of those slackline kits.
  18. do a search for city of rocks. there was good thread on the climber's board maybe a year or so ago. try some of the new stuff and give us a report. i've heard good things.

It's true, boys damn it! how come i don't get the password to the women's only forum. i promise to wear some make up or something
  21. If that's the case, then the problem might be your partner's gear shifting up! no, he's a good partner, he knows just when to shift gears. CBS- do you always rack on the same side? i often switch b/c of the nature of the route. and all normal people rack on the left side anyway...sheesh! didn't think about the reversiblility issue
  22. for the sake of argument i was belaying my partner up so it was in essence a TR situation. i have used a directional if my anchor was good and i thought it would make rope handling easier. in this case, rope management wasn't as high on my list as trying to find a fourth piece. i'm a tad conservative and prefer a 4piece anchor if it's reasonable.
  23. sounds like this has been a great trip for you in so many ways. i hope you write a looooooooong TR for us. i'm envious!
  24. i think the shipping from AK might be nearly as expensive as buying one my chest is configured a little differently than erik's and will's. i might not have the exact same type of problem w/the gear shifting up yeah..it'll smell like a sweaty girl climber instead of sweaty guy climber which so much better
