  1. Too busy climbing on weekends to spray. There's ICE in them thar' hills!
  2. B-52: 71 g Lightest device the supports belaying off the anchor with autolock mode.
  3. What is striking is the density over Florida. Do Floridians fly so much more than the rest of us? This picture was taken in March.
  4. Nickel-Cadmium don't hold enough charge for a beacon and don't handle cold well. Nickel-Metal-Hydride, on the other hand are rechargeables that handle cold remarkably well and last much longer. In cameras they perform better than alkaline in cold conditions.
  5. We have room for TWO more to ride comfortably, if you want a ride to Vantage. We meet at the I-5 and 145th St NE park and ride at 6:30 am.
  6. I took Gary Brill's Level 1 course three years ago and it was pretty good.
  7. Clearly, they are strong enough for aid climbing, so there is one application. If you are climbing easier alpine routes where the chances of falling are minimal, but you are watching every ounce, then perhaps you would be willing to forego the extra margin of safety that a stronger nut would afford. I don't know, it seems to me that nuts are your lightest protection to begin with, and that it would be the last place I'd try to save weight. The fact that I've never seen anyone carrying these nuts tells me they can't be very popular. But you got 'em. My suggestion is to use standard nuts when the fall factor is high and save your ultralights for when you have more rope out.

    Spray-On

I'm tellin' ya, that's what I call quality Spray.
  9. So I have the Mako, which is great for mixed climbing. It works pretty good for ice climbing. I'm wondering if the Switchblade double point would be better for alpine ice climbing.
  10. To what degree are parts of the Switchblade interchangeable with the Mako?
  11. Souless, yes, but calling it art is a stretch.
  12. I'll take them. Why is it when I try to send a PM, I get the message, "We don't have any record for the user 'Mjolner' ".

    ALPINFOX

I'm sure he's just in the shower, jumping around, trying to get wet.
  16. I'm sure there must be an old school trad climber around who still has his BD templates for drilling lightening holes.
  17. I'd like to mention that the update to the BB software has greatly simplified the process of adding photos to your trip reports. Now all you have to do is to put the cursor where you want the picture and click on the camera icon. You are taken to the Photo Gallery where the most recent are displayed first. Click on the image(s) you want. Finding older images may be more hassle than it's worth. In that case use the method Scott described above, which is still valid.
  18. A boon to boulderers. Now their beanies can do more than just make a fashion statement.
  19. Vantage- these are crap routes that are never climbed: For a Fat Girl You Sure Can Run Chrome-Plated Pig with Marital Aids Stuck All Over It
  20. That would be nice, except that acid is not derived from a fungus. It comes from lysergic acid, which comes from the seeds of a flower. I believe it's morning glory seeds.
  21. No Hanna in the group. Which Hanna are we referring to here? The SG Hanna? Nope.
  22. That sounds like "herd mentality" to me. Dangerous way of thinking.
  23. When are final exams?
  24. If you guys were talking we'd call it diarrhea of the mouth. In this case we'll port the metaphor as diarrhea of the fingers (or finger).
  25. I think that the knucklehead meant "Beatles".
