  1. Have any of you looked out the window? The sun is shining! Blue sky! Index? Exit 32? Don't make me go hiking.
  2. That could be tough as all climbers are named either Erik, Dave, or Matt. Well that covers about 90% of climbers anyway.
  3. Did you try the fugu?
  4. So it would appear that the yellow safety line is attached to the very line you are walking on, the very same line that failed ten minute before with no one walking on it. Now you fall and point load the line which is under a tremendous tension. No thanks! I'd want to be clipped to a separate line that is dynamic and not under tension.
  5. Cut down that apple tree and plant one that grows nice, sweet apples. I triple grafted my tree so I get different apples on one tree.
  6. No can do. I'm playing with my jazz band in the evening.
  7. These guys rely on stealth and guile. They are very quick and avoid confrontation. They hang out and wait until no one is in sight to do their dirty work. No one is willing to waste their time staking out a parking lot. On the other hand, if I saw someone just hanging out when I approached, I'd be very reluctant to park and leave my car. I heard a story last year about someone who did that last year. The guys followed him to make sure he was walking to the Far Side then turned back and hit his car.
  8. History is full of offensive material. Kids better get used to it. Next think you know they'll call it Herstory. Wait I think they've already tried that one.
  9. The weather forecast looks good for Tuesday. Let me know if you are interested in climbing from about mid morning until late afternoon.
  10. Lost and Found is the usual forum for such posts.
  11. This wasn't Squamish and you guys were definitely not "Squeahmish" (just filling in for Klenke). Is that avalanche debris we're looking at in the bottom of the gully?

    i think...

Where you been, son. You've been slacking in the Spray department. There's unwork waiting for you.
  13. Saw some people I had seen in over a year and I was pleased to finally meet up with ketch and dmuja. I missed Wayne's slides unfortunately, but really enjoyed Sky's, Off's and Matt's slides.
  14. There is shadow under this red rock, (Come in under the shadow of this red rock), And I will show you something different from either Your shadow at morning striding behind you Or your shadow at evening rising to meet you; I will show you fear in a handful of dust.

    broken

Muffy, you are making me feel guilty about getting away with some of the mistakes I've been making lately. Fate is quite fickle.
  16. How about why don't I just kill myself? My life is so devoid of meaning I just bought a 108" TV!!!!!
  17. The bouldering cave is question is a pretty tight little area. It's conceivable that one could come off one wall and hit one's heat on the opposite wall. Also, the gravel is rather shallow in that area. I've gone through it to hit concrete on more than one occasion.
  18. You think concealed weapons would have an impact on car breakins at trailheads? Dream on!
  19. As I was leaving the gym at 8:30 pm this evening, several paramedics came in the door. I watched them head to the far back on the right side, a bouldering cave with mostly easier routes. I have no idea who was hurt or how badly. I passed an ambulance with lights and siren approaching as I drove away. Then I saw a bad wreck on I-5 at 130th. Someone in a red car hit the jersey barrier pretty hard.
  20. I find it remarkable how closely the arguments in this latest thread replicate the ones in older thread started by Jammin. I say go climb. You'll fall soon enough. If you put in enough gear, something's going to hold.
  21. Okay, it wasn't on a weekend, but at Exit 38, I saw a guy solo aid a 5.9 bolted route at We Did Rock using trekking poles as stick clips.
  22. Where's the fun in that?
  23. If old skewl means cleaning up after yourself, taking care of the environment, showing respect for your fellow climbers and self-reliance, call me old skewl.
