  1. Spring is indeed upon us. Sounds like you're on the virge of coming out of the closet with those new routes? Truly, keep me in mind in the future. I'd love to climb with you.
  2. I thought it was Cunning Stunt, but what do I know?
  3. Sorry I couldn't make it. My excuse was that I was out climbing.
  4. This is the last thread that I would have predicted to take off like this. You folks really need to take Friday off from work and go climbing. The weather is going to be great! Tell your boss right now how you are feeling alternate chills and fever spells, as you sneeze in his face.
  5. Wrong guy to try to pick on.
  6. I've hit my toes into furniture enough times that I learned my lesson and wear slippers, like Vincent "the Chin" Gigante.
  7. Oly, we all know. You bad, you real bad!
  8. When you have to carry a shit load of liability insurance just to stay in business, you don't take chances.

    it's a good day

Damn, took the words right out of my mouth. Or is is mouf?
  10. Shit that wouldn't have worked in our car. My brother and I figured out we could torment my sister just by looking at her.
  11. Turns out it was woman who injured a foot, a broken metatarsal bone. The situation with the thin gravel has been corrected, although I have no idea if that had anything to do with the injury.
  12. EXTENDED FORECAST FOR FRIDAY THROUGH SUNDAY Mostly fair and warm Friday. However, considerable sunshine or filtered sunshine is still likely with clouds and showers decreasing mid-late Saturday. Mostly fair and a little cooler early Sunday. Cooler with light to moderate rain or snow increasing late Sunday into early Monday. · FREEZING LEVELS 9-11,000 ft N, 10-12,000 ft S Friday through early Saturday · SNOW LEVELS 8-10,000 ft N and S mid-late Saturday 7-9000 ft N and S early Sunday 5-7000 ft N, 6-8000 ft S late Sunday, lowering further early Monday
  13. Said elderly climber would like to make another attempt on this same route this weekend. We'll have the key to the gate and try to drive as far as possible. Send me a PM if you are interested.
  14. If it is the one to the right of Blockhead, it is Bad Chew Chew, 5.9/5.10a. Lucky said he started it but that Rusty Smith finished it and got the FA.
  15. Best thread in a long time! Keep up the good work folks.
  16. ...and it's a good thing, otherwise, the population would be a lot larger than it is now.
  17. In theory yes, but getting the right fit would be even more difficult than with regular shoes, as now you have to deal with variations in toe length.
  18. You guys better be careful, or you'll get big legs, like Jens, and become a so suck rock climber. Your sends could drop into the low 5.12's and you'll come back lamenting this. What you did is amazing. I could no more do that than I could imagine climbing 5.13.
  19. Too late. I went and hiked Mailbox Peak by myself. I guess it was a good thing because I hadn't realized how out of shape I've become. No speed records were set. So can anyone tell me why there are TWO mailboxes at the summit? Wouldn't one suffice?
  20. Spray is important, along with air, water, food and sex.
  21. Pope, you make some good points. The effect of leaving draws on a route is to effectively claim "ownership" of the route while you are not actually present. That's the part I don't like. I only "own" the route while I am physically there working it. One might as well leave a rope on it.
  22. A multi-cultural apple tree - very cool. What kind/variety of apples did you go with? I've got robust one that produces fujian and the other that is the focus of my angst is unknown to me (produces a large yellow apple). King, Northern Spy, Akane were grafted along with Cole's Quince which didn't take.
  23. No, you are Erik the Half-a-Bee.
  24. Supposedly dirt is the solution to allergies. Do your kids a favor and send them outside to make mud pies so they can eat peanut butter when they are in little league.
