I heard through the grapevine: Congratulations to Kevin E and Maggie who had the little baby boy last Sunday. I understand the little pup was a tad early, and he and his wife delivered it at home, no hospital, no Dr. No nothing. Congrats to the new little climber, Kevin and Maggie! Might explain why Kevbone hasn't been posting lately. I bumped into him at Beacon Sat and the little one popped out Sun. to health and to life!

REI's beginners climbing kit. BTW, MOS, I learned this the hard way. Wire brushing will smooth the rock out and make the footholds slick. Get yourself a natural bristle broom and brush like a palmyra bristle job, it will do faster job, and won't screw up the route.

Sounds like those he left behind will be missing him for sure. It's a damn shame no question about it. To all of our brothers who checked out too early: And another

Hello Minx? I thought you were a moderator here? BTW, this event happended while I was over there, not far from this pass, and didn't hear about it till I got back. The Tibetians appear to overwhelmingly want the Chinese to pack up and leave. But it's not gonna happen. FYI, in 1997, the Nepalese Sherpas said that it was common knowledge, known by all the locals, that any Tibetan crossing into Nepal via this pass without correct paperwork (which is evidently most of the time), would be executed by the Chinese if they were caught and returned to the Tibetan/Chinese border by the Nepalese. This event just happened to take place in front of a bunch of Westerners. Nothing has really changed in the last 10 years. Bob, like to know what you are planning on doing now that you have seen the light and now appear to give a FUCK.

What is being said here exactly anyway? Was the Doctor or Professor Marvel using a clove hitch to keep Dorothy from leaving, or was this something those bastards the "Flying Monkeys" were employing? ? We're not sure?

Bad arguements Minx, as was your last post. Just because somebody plunked in an anchor somewhere, dosen't mean that the next person now must forwver suffer it being there because some dick head wanted to put in in and it's in now so everyone MUST now leave it there. Pffsssst. As far as you being a weak climber and needing a short anchor. Well, that arguement is weak as well, why not just stay in the gym instead of lowering the climbs to your level? Frankly, Dcramer has an arguement for leaving it there that is hard to argue against, ie, 1) it's pretty much always been there and 2) it's a damn good place, being a no hands nice little stance right there.

Bump for Tonight is THE night of Drytooling magic and this needs to be on top right now. I'm back home filthy from Beacon threashing in the middle of nowhere to the top (Route=uprising or alternative name Moss, Choss and Toss). I'll clean off and head over to visit and enter the free beer drinking contest/eldery decrepid geriatric division. As should you slackers reading this:-) ______________________________________________________- Back home now and the thing is over, this was an awesome Event, I'll let John post the whole story with pics and 4 part harmoney, but a good time was had by all for sure. I guess I'm also damn happy that John is cranking so hard on the arrangements and it was so successful, but mostly that he has found a home at the Portland Rock Gym too. As I understand it, Gary didn't make a dime by showing his support, (in fact - his worker dude was working his ass off picking up things:-) so I hope that the climbing community supports PRG by way of payback. It' was way good to see Gary again too. Bill

It's been longer than 20 min and Dru has not shown up with a 1 liner. I wonder if he may actually be out climbing? Maybe we should send a RCMP to his door to check on him eh? -

Jim: "It's a one-piece masterpiece for the fine art of field dressing those critters so unlucky as to cross your path." Picture strangly not available at most fine climbing websites.

Is that Todd Skinner fella following you up routes again? Realistically, I surprised that people carry that stuff " Every " time up every route, I was out roped soloing last night and forgot - or didn't have, about everything on that list. Everything . I remembered the rope, shoes, harness, about 3 carabiners and a waterbottle. Oh, Powderhound: I think Corona Glass Houses got downgraded last night 2 or 3 grades or I was feeling supermanlike.
