Any ski techs out there? I wouild love to see the results of putting dynafits and fritschis on binding release test machine... The new Dynafits (comfort??) have longer pins in order to help with the de-cambering issue.

Mine was a gift, and I would also give it a Eats batteries like jules says. The software that came with it for d/l pics and whatever also blew goats (would never function on my computer) and I ended up buying a card and card reader to get around that problem. It's also kind of bulky.

Oh boy, with the caveat that I haven't actually climbed p1 of Sunblessed yet... It's harder (duh!), steeper but similar climbing, and not quite as runout... I think once you get the first bolt, that the next ones are reasonably spaced.

I think the present situation is as it was originally put up. The FA chopped two chicken bolts that were added. I think it is a shame that the 1st pitch is so run out, as it would be a truly sucky place to break an ankle. I hiked up there to do that route a few years back, and after much searcxhing, decided that it was not for me. C'est la vie. I would love to see more bolts there, but I would be in line to chop them if they appeared again...

I attended this last year, and really enjoyed it. A little bit geeky fer sure, but some really interesting ideas were presented. The highlight for me was Werner Munter's presentation on his Risk Reduction method. That would be the same Munter who invented a certain useful knot that we all know and love (or hate!) Hey Alpinfox... I think we can be friends again. Last night was full on! I am so tired now though, we were up 'til 130 or so. Even when we went to bed, we could see it flashing out of the bedroom window. It was bright enough to cast shadows out in the dark place we went. Best show I've ever seen. Flashing, pulsing, waves, curtains rays, colours, glow, basically the whole shebang! W000000000000t!

If it fits... yes! I, for example, really like my Putzl helmet, but the BD 1/2D doesn't fit me at all.

I knew somebody (a chemist) who dissolved his old toothbrushes in some solvent and painted them on his glove to see if that would waterproof it. Of course he did only one glove, so as to have a control. I have thought about using some nikwaxy stuff. can't hurt I figure, but really, fleece is not gonna work as a shell IMO.

you can also opt out if you have a reason, like you are out of the country for an extended period. it applies to all elections to, local, to national.

I did a set this Spring. I would say the same thing that cj001f says, not the best binding to learn mounting on. However, if you are naturslly good at these sorts of things, and if you are really meticulous, and very careful with measuring, and you follow Lou's procedure to the letter, then you will likely be OK. The problem with Dynafits is if the mount gets screwed up, then they can prerelease, or not release, as the relationship between toe and heel effects the alignment of the boot in the binding. If you screwed up a Fritschi, for example, the only real problem would be that your ski might be a little crooked on your foot. Taps will be neccesary if your skis have any metal sheets in them. I measured everything about three times before I drilled, and put aside a whole morning so I was not rushed. cj001f, this is the only place I've seen the rental plates.
